Aly , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

It would be easy to say that ARJ came to be because of Aly & Lana’s passion for jewelry, but the truth goes beyond that. It involves passion, paths crossing, and fate.
This sister duo saw an opportunity to combine their brand building expertise with their father-in-law’s generational experience as a jeweler, certified gemologist and appraiser, to set a new standard for fine jewelry.

Aly and Lana made it their mission to create a brand that would empower women to celebrate real, everyday milestones. Their pieces are hand-picked to embody everything these Co-Founders believe in – celebration, empowerment and authenticity.

Aly , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Before Aly met her fiancé (Lana’s brother-in-law), she went through a rough breakup that resulted in the strength and determination to build something of her own. Today, Aly is the Founder of a female-run creative agency, existing to help brands tell their story and expand their reach. After landing her first client in 2007, she decided to reward herself with a beautiful diamond necklace that she would never take off. That necklace became the symbol of her new found independence. ​
Lana was born and raised in Brazil, and is the mother of two beautiful boys. In 2015, after she had her first son, Lana decided to fully commit to her role of ‘stay-at-home mom’. As the kids grew and began school, Lana felt called back to her entrepreneurial roots and was ready to invest her energy into something new.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

Some say my story (Aly’s story) models how to choose yourself in the midst of scary and intense transitions.

I had a rude awakening in 2014 and I just knew something about the life I was living had to change. With little idea of what would come next, I broke out of a marriage I felt trapped in and cut out empty friendships – which was most of them. I quickly learned that when you strip away all of the inauthentic choices and learned habits, you start to get back to the core of what you actually want and what matters.

Fast forward eight years, and you get the truest version of me – transparent, passionate, and purposeful. This new energy propelled me into growing a thriving start-up and saying “yes” to most opportunities that come my way.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

Lana and I met through my fiancé and are soon to be sister-in-laws. We not only share family, but we share similar personality traits as well. Our bold, outgoing energy seems to be contagious, impacting those around us. We’re both creatives who love fashion, fun and a good espresso martini.
