We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kiara Lee & Darnyá Jamerson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kiara Lee & Darnyá Jamerson, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The Signature Fit’s mission is to cater to women of all ages, shapes, and sizes. Our comfy-cute wear gives women enough confidence to stand out in a room and not feel insecure. We stand on never sacrificing comfort for style.
The Signature Fit has a Brand Ambassador Program with over 2,000 Ambassadors of all shapes and sizes. Trendsetters who eat, sleep, and breathe fashion are invited to join our team. We carry out our mission and do not discriminate when it comes to choosing representatives for our brand. We support diversity, female empowerment, and looking FAB at all times.

The Signature Fit aka “TSF” is a thriving black-women owned fashion boutique that specializes in comfy Signature Fits for cute Signature Looks. TSF was founded in 2019 by two college friends, Kiara Lee & Darnyá Jamerson. The owners got into the e-commerce clothing business because of their love of fashion, business, and content creating.
TSF specializes in comfy-cute sets (joggers, hoodies, crewnecks, leggings, etc.) from sizes XS-3X. Our brand destigmatizes the assumption that dressing comfortable means dressing down. Whether you are someone who likes to rock sneakers or heels, our FITS have the versatility to do both. We stand on never sacrificing comfort for style.
We are most proud of our growth. Since our launch in May 2020, we’ve grown over 5k email/text subscribers, 7k social media followers, built a team of over 2k ambassadors, and tripled our annual sales.
How’d you meet your business partner?
The Signature Fit founders met on the all-girl competitive cheerleading team at The University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign. Their collaboration began as bases in the same stunt group, and evolved into a friendship. 8 years later, they began a business partnership and launched TSF.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Effective communication is essential for managing a team. Clearly identifying role/responsibilities ,setting expectations, and being transparent with your team can be beneficial. This way the entire team is on one accord which decreases errors and maintains a high morale.
