We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nadia Medina a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Nadia, appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?

Butterly baked was created and designed in God’s heart.

March 2020 would be the year that would change my life forever. I was working for a well-known home decor store as an interior designer. At the same time my family and I welcomed our second child, simultaneously a pandemic takes over the world and I decided to quit my job.

Months go by and as a good daughter of God, I decided to give all my plans to Him. In prayer, I asked many times what would become of my professional life? What would my new adventure be?

Then I started to see my baking passion as a kind way of expressing art and the beauty of serving others. Our slogan as a brand is: “creating edible art for your loved ones”.

I started studying, researching and learning all about baking and cake design. I’ve taught myself to grow no matter the circumstances around me, to have Faith in the Lord Jesus and to trust His times and desires for my life.

The biggest risk I’ve taken as a business owner, baker and creative mind is trusting that Butterly Baked will succeed during a pandemic, with a small budget, walking on the waters by God’s hands because He is faithful. He said Butterly baked will be succesful and I will inspire and help so many people through this business, so I believed it!

Nadia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Butterly Baked main focus are Modern and Luxurious Buttercream Celebration Cakes: weddings, showers, birthday parties, quinceañera, graduations and more. Butterly Baked cakes are known for being soft, having generous fillings and the right touch of sweetness.

Butterly Baked cakes are always ordered to be the center of attention of any celebration! The special thing about Butterly Baked cakes is they are designed for the needs of our client: flavor, design, party theme, delivery, time etc. Each of our creations are first digitally designed, then brought to life!

We offer deliveries around the Houston area. Pick up is always available at our location: zip code 77055 (Houston, Tx).

Butterly baked has a time limit of 24 hours to respond all inquiries. We want to make your life easier, not harder!

We value all baker’s artwork. Butterly baked doesn’t duplicate other baker’s cake designs, we get inspired by them.

A little bit about your Butterly Baker:
My name is Nadia Medina, a 31-years old Venezuelan woman who from a very young age has been driven to serving others, art and being part of any celebration. I’m a wife and passionated mom, who enjoys being a business woman at the same time.

I am a self-taught baker. Baking has been a way to express who I am, to share my love for others and to bring joy to this world.

My goal as a business owner is to always show love and compassion to everyone just as my Lord Jesus does. Butterly Baked was created in God’s heart and I really want to share it with others!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

Being honest and responsible!

-Having God as your leader and letting him guide you in any steps you take! After all He knows what’s best for all of us!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The most rewarding aspect about being a Cake Designer, is to be able to create something that represents me as a brand and artist.

It excites me that someone sees and tastes something made by me and says that it was made by Nadia from Butterly Baked (all glory to Jesus). It means all my love and dedication are valued through my designs and flavors. It means a lot to me!
