We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Robin Anderson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Robin, thanks for joining us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
When I was a teenager I took care of my sick grandmother until she passed away. It meant so much to her for me to help her care for herself and make her comfortable. In fact, she only wanted my help. When I graduated high school I wanted to enter in the medical profession so that I could help people get ahead of the curve with their health and wellness, however, I did what any “good daughter” would do and I took the advice of my parents and entered in to the corporate world. In my spare time I continued to study therapeutic and alternative modalities to health and wellness as my career path at the time put my plans on hold for quite some time. In 2016, when I had the opportunity to change careers and started the journey in becoming a nurse. Once I graduated, I worked as a nurse at bedside on the medical-surgical units. I answered the call during the COVID-19 crisis and all the while, I felt there was a better way to care for people. My defining moment in opening my own medical clinic was during my time as a bedside nurse when I realized there was a better way to combine both function medicine and therapeutic alternatives. This is when I opened up LIT & Aesthetics. LIT is an acronym for LifeTime Therapeutic Therapies. The aesthetic part came a little later when I realized the need to help rejuvenate people from the inside out.
Robin, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have been investing in my craft for 20 years and in the last two decided to add the aesthetic portion of my discipline so that I could help people feel rejuvenated inside and out. What sets me apart from others in the industry is the level of care I take in connecting with my patients and helping them to see their beauty before any treatments are performed. I offer a wide range of therapeutic alternatives as well as the aesthetic medical part of my clinic. I offer customized massage therapy, post-op lymphatic drainage, custom essential oil applications, and aesthetic treatments like neuromodulators, fillers, and threads. I also offer vitamin infusion and weight loss options. I am most proud of being able to live my dream every day because I never gave up on my path. My brand is about not only creating a new you, but creating the best person you can be inside and out. It is my goal that every patient feels cared for, tended to, and walk out feeling confident and better than ever.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One of the biggest events that happened to me in my life was unexpectedly becoming a single mother. I can relate first hand to many women when it comes to being a mother, wife, and also a single working mother. It is one of the reasons I am so very passionate about helping women feel their best. It could have been so easy for me to give up on my big dreams of opening my own wellness clinic after experiencing such life changing events, however, I stand here today feeling so blessed and grateful for having the courage to continue my path and great mission in the face of such challenges. I am here to share with people everywhere that they too can achieve their dreams. So days it felt like I was spinning my wheels, and when I look back now, I can see that even in those moments, I was creating a path forward in my journey.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Being a deliberate and diligent practitioner who actually cares about each individual that steps foot in my clinic is what has helped me to build my reputation in the market, as well as considering the safety of my patients and helping them to reach their maximum results.
