Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alicia Hill. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Alicia, thanks for joining us today. Too often the media represents innovation as something magical that only high-flying tech billionaires and upstarts engage in – but the truth is almost every business owner has to regularly innovate in small and big ways in order for their businesses to survive and thrive. Can you share a story that highlights something innovative you’ve done over the course of your career?
I designed and executed an online leadership development course called “The Differentiator”.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
A Career Girl Brand Management is a Brand value focused company that brings enhancements to personal and professional brands. What started out being a voice for those seeking to develop/enhance their careers quickly became a passion. From working with schools to participating in career development for students, to offering promotional preparation to peers “A Career Girl (ACG) Brand Management LLC” was birthed.
ACG does this through exceptional resume writing and interview prep sessions along with brand consulting for career professionals. Also, through (global experience consulting) customer experience training, leadership training and professional branding for corporations, nonprofits and small businesses.
This past summer ACG launched its first online leadership development course to expand and develop a stronger digital platform. The leadership development course focuses on leadership styles, effective communication, collaboration, customer experience and so much more. The Differentiator course makes moving up the ladder sustainable, innovative, and intentional.
What sets ACG apart from other companies is, I offer a complete 360 journey. I understand how to vision and empower. For example, when I complete a resume for a client, I know they will need to practice for their interview. Once they interview and get the job, I know they will need to understand how important it is to manage their professional brand to advance their career.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
ACG’s audience was built online by researching and understanding what the target audience was looking for. I had to make the post engaging, entertaining, and educational. I had to offer the right amount of complimentary business advice. It was tough to figure out. I went through tons of online posts and classes about how to grow your social media following. It honestly became a mixture of things via trial and error. I had to boost ads, follow others, comment on other posts, and make sure that I commented back when someone commented on my post. Growing your audience on social media is an art. It takes time, talent, and finances. It is important to post often, and to carefully analyze your insights. It is also important to know where your followers are located, if they are male/female, even knowing the time of day your followers are online. I strongly suggest videos, and reels for social media. If a business owner doesn’t have a social media strategist on their team, getting one should be your priority. Social media is a competitive space, and you have to figure out a way to draw your audience in. Gaining followers and keeping them interested is a battle that you can only win when you become an expert at social media. That doesn’t happen overnight so you must be patient and willing to invest in quality content. Quality content is key. I create content a month in advance and as I see things that capture my attention from other post I ask myself, “how can I create a post that will stop someone from scrolling by?” The goal is not to get likes, the goal is to get comments, shares, and execution out of your post.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The strategy that I used that was most effective for growing my clientele was the value in my offerings. I understood the end goal for each client. I knew that resumes lead to interviews and interviews lead to careers, and careers lead to promotions. I had to first offer services that aligned well together. I also had to stick and stay with the client. I would create a client’s resume and work with them to update it, make changes, and ensure that it was perfect for the job they were applying for. I would do interview prep for hours and even make random phone calls to ask questions to ensure the client was prepared. These are just a couple of examples of how I had to be strategic in ensuring my client’s success. I had to get involved and stay engaged in their journey. For any business dealing with people your services or products must be simple, easy to use and personalized. This is what creates loyal customers and loyal customers send referrals. My strategy was simple: Go above and beyond to ensure complete satisfaction.
