Cleon, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How has Covid changed your business model?
It changes the way I had to approach doing business but it also open me up to new ideas to bring in revenue.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Cleon Bonner and I am the owner of Happy Daiquiri To Go 14715 T C Jester Suite 400 Houston TX. I decided to get into the daiquiri business because alcohol never die it was a industry that was proven thru tough and good times. I wanted to separate myself from the competition by becoming the first known daiquiri shop slash sip n paint all in one. As a artist I decided to combine the two together plus sell non alcoholic drinks as well I allow other artists to hang there artwork to display and sell as well. We book birthday parties events and pop up shops as well making it easy for our customers and clients to have a great time. I am the most proud of just getting it open three years ago from a dream to a reality and we look forward to expanding the brand. I would like people to see Happy Daiquiri To Go as all around experience that the whole family can enjoy.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Opening a business is already challenging but to open it doing 2020 when COVID invaded the world is scary but like the old saying says only the strong survive. I only had a specific amount of money to get my business open and right before I suppose to open up COVID hit delaying everything but the mind is very powerful and I was determine to get the doors open and stay afloat. With determination and lots of prayers I was able to rise and that situation help not only my mind but my patience as well. The lesson learned was never ever say what you can’t do to survive.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn was you can’t please and satisfy everyone. You will always have some customers asking for flavors you don’t carry or what you should be doing like another shop might be doing. I had to learn that the best way to survive and grow your business is to do things at your pace and don’t focus on what the competition doing create your own lane.
