We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Simone Soulel a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Simone, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?

I was going to Esthetics school in Los Angeles and working in a very prominent Metaphysical shop in West Hollywood. I use to do on the spot Intuitive readings and a man walked in who owned a bar in Los Angeles and needed his space cleared out, he felt it held heavy energy and was keeping customers out, Mind you I was trained to clear energy but I was 25 and had never cleared a whole building, but i accepted ! I’ve been doing personal and business clearings since, very thankful for my start.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

My name is Simone Soulel, I am a Licensed Esthetician and Intuitive Healer Originally from Ontario, California, Ive always loved beauty as a little girl and consistently grew to love it more and more into adulthood. Around twenty five I decided to move to Los Angeles and go to school for Esthetics and start a career, while moving I knew i needed a job and ended up landing in West Hollywood. I worked at a very prominent Metaphysical shop working as a Celebrity Intuitive Healer which lead me into seeing the vision of how so many people can benefit from healing in beauty.

Fusing both worlds of Metaphysics and Beauty started with creating my brand Simone Soulel Co featuring Manifestation Candles and Natural Skincare Products side by side, something I had never seen before. Then going deeper and mixing herbs of certain frequencies within the beauty products for a specific energetic boost and incorporating self love more into the manifestation candles over time, Now slowly working my way into the nail industry with my dip powders,

Coming from a background of “traumatic lack in self love” and being in really bad relationships from family to romantic situations I was in need of healing . Working in a healing metaphysical environment literally changed my life, that’s something I really wanted to share with others so over time and after some healing I started taking clients personally. My background allows me to relate to what they are going through, I help my clients work on boundaries and creating a better relationship with self first which creates the balance and frequency of self love,

Being a Afro Latina woman my background has really come full circle in my work, my mother is from Belize and my father is from South Carolina. My parents used to keep roots to ward off bad spirits and use home remedies to make me and my brother feel better when we were sick. I feel like that has laid my foundational structure to always want to take care of my clients and humanity in general, It’s a true love thing and a forever thing.

Have you ever had to pivot?

Right before Covid started I got a location right on Sunset & Highland Ave in West Hollywood. This was my first real store location and I was so excited to get to work, I put the deposit down, bought the sign and all the marketing material I needed along with doing a major Inventory haul. The week before my grand opening and me telling clients that we’d finally had a location for healing and where they can pick up candles when needed Covid hit. Prompting my grand opening to be smaller and leading me to have to shut the doors a few weeks later. I decided to tale a break and regroup with me now launching Simone Souel Co

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

While working and going to school I would set money aside each week to buy inventory for my business, boot strapping my business into reality. I didn’t have a solid plan at first but I used what I had to build brick by brick.
