We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alicia Cansino. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alicia below.
Alicia , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
There is so much meaning to the name of my blog. When we purchased our home we only had our son and no plans for more kids. The house was perfect for us and everything we dreamed. Fast forward 7 years we now have 3 kids and our 1200 square home is a bit small for us, but oh is it a blessed home! That is how Bless This Little House was created.

Alicia , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi! My name is Alicia, author of dessert blog Bless This Little House and social media content creator. I love sharing my passion for cakes & desserts! I started my food blog Bless This Little House in 2019. I love sharing dessert recipes! Whether you’re craving cake, bread, or cookies I know you will find a recipe on my blog for your sweet tooth. You can also find me on Instagram where I love to share dessert videos, family life, and also brands that I love!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Social media is such an important part of my blog. I spend so much time on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram promoting my website. But it all pays off in the end! I have been able to monetize my blog and it also opened other business opportunities for me, like working with amazing brands. But honestly, the most rewarding part has been the relationships I have made. I have connected with so many amazing ladies! Some of them I talk on a daily basis and have become a part of my daily life even when we haven’t met in person. That is why I started my blog and what motivates me when it gets hard. There ie truly no secret, just be yourself and enjoy what you do. Your audience will see it :)

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Ever since I could remember I have always loved baking. I was never good at it to be honest, but I think part of the reason was because I never put much effort into it. In 2016 we moved to Arizona for a year. That year in Arizona changed everything. I had a 7-year-old boy, a 10-month-old baby, and had just given birth to another daughter. Life was busy, tiring, and stressful. During this time my relationship with God grew and I finally realized what I wanted to do with my life. Bake! I started baking cakes and desserts. Baking and decorating gave me meaning and made me happy. It’s almost as if it was the piece that was missing in my life. I was a mom, a wife, a daughter, and now a baker too! When I bake I forget about everything else and just enjoy the moment. When we moved back to Houston I was determined to share my desserts with the world, especially with other mamas! That is how my blog Bless This Little House was created in 2019. It has now become a main source of income along with brand collaborations on social media.
