Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lisa Berry. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lisa , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you manage your own social media?
Social media plays a huge role in today’s society so it’s important to try to stay on top of it if you can. I do manage my own social media accounts because I like to engage with the audience, I’m a very hands on type of person. However with that said, it can become a distraction so I’ve created a schedule for me to post content. One can always look forward to Positivi-Tea Tuesdays, Whole lotta Tea ish Wednesdays, Tea Sippin Thursdays and Cute Tea Sundays. I send out a monthly newsletter to my subscribers and also provide 1-2 perks a month. Social media is a job within itself but I make time for it because it makes a huge difference in drawing people to my business/mission.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Lisa Berry; a young entrepreneur who strives to be your favorite tea lady. Born and raised in South Los Angeles, CA and have managed to beat the odds. being the first to attend and graduate college in my family. Where I received my BA from UC Santa Barbara and my MA from Pacific Oaks college. Not only am I parenting a wild toddler but also managing, Blended Berries Tea.
We are spreading Positivi-TEA through our handmade herbal blends. Teas are made of organic ingredients. Caffeine & Sugar free. Packed with benefits including boosting heart health, reducing stress, improving digestion, soothing an upset stomach & more.
I wanted to create a legacy, something that generations down the road can benefit from. I wanted to stand out from my peers but also produce what I could with the little funds that I had. I wanted to find ways to be different yet stand out. I chose tea because not only is it the second most popular beverage in the world next to water but it also helped me recover from my own digestive system issues. I also learned that tea is a natural healer for many things. Tea is lit.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I would like to say I have a genuine following because as stated before, I’m very hands on. Over the years I just found ways to stay consistent. For example, my followers will know to expect a Cute Tea Sunday post from me showing off a new mug, sharing a heart breaking statistic on mental health, sharing resources and more. Just knowing how to be yourself and showing that you care about what it is that you post will show followers you’re serious about your business. That will allow others to pay attention to what you have to say.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for me would be being outside, meeting people face to face. Although we’re in a digital time and I operate BBT mainly as an online store. It’s still important to get out and meet people face to face. I try to vendor at different events around the city 1-2 a month and when I do, it’s a fulfilling experience. People are drawn to my energy and my table. I’m able to answer any questions head on and able to provide samples of my product before they buy. I love getting to know others so that’s always exciting to gain new customers in that way.
