We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ashleah Hudson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ashleah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of the most important things small businesses can do, in our view, is to serve underserved communities that are ignored by giant corporations who often are just creating mass-market, one-size-fits-all solutions. Talk to us about how you serve an underserved community.
Once, a girl posted in a group that she needed a reading. She expressed that it was important but that she was in financial hardship and presently homeless. I was the only person in the group that reached out to her.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Ashleah, I’m from Augusta, GA, I’m forty-six years old, and I have been practicing witchcraft since I was thirteen. I began studying Wicca, but I’ve studied many paths along the way. I now consider myself eclectic, but I primarily practice Norse Paganism with some traditional witchcraft elements included. I have always loved helping people and sharing my knowledge. In my lifetime, I have been a nursing assistant, an educator, and an editor. Now, my services are more holistically based.
About seven years ago, I went to a workshop that I saw advertised online, titled “How to Throw Bones.” I took to osteomancy immediately and began learning everything I could about the practice. The instructor of the above mentioned workshop became my mentor and has encouraged me to use my gifts every step of the way.
As an intuitive empath, through “Mystical Awakenings with Ashleah,” I offer divination readings. I specialize in throwing bones, but my readings often include other methods as well. In addition to offering readings, I instruct those who wish to learn the art of bone throwing. I also offer products such as spell bottles, rune sets, and besoms.
Some of the issues clients have come to me with include finance, love/relationships, fertility, and health.
One thing that sets me apart from others is that I do not have any ready -made products for sell. My spell bottles, rune sets, and besoms are 100% customized to the client. I often perform divination to determine what exactly the client needs, especially in the case of spell bottles. Also, I believe that my compassionate and caring nature show through in my readings.
I am most proud of the fact that I have lived my dream. I was the editor of a small e-magazine, I am the editor of a published book, and now I’m moving forward to write and edit my own book.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I’m on social media, and it’s been helpful, but making physical appearances at festivals and connecting with others has been the most effective way I’ve built my clientele.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Social media is the best and easiest way to keep in touch with clients. I have a presence on Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, and TikTok.
