Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Thomas Snyder. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Thomas, appreciate you joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Professionally? Maybe around 2014-2015. I was a Freshmen at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where I met several other creatives whether producers, artists, photographers, videographers, etc. That time period started a domino effect. Different artists were recording songs on my beats locally like Yung Moo$ie and TSL Fetti but also in other states like Go Yayo and Lil Mexico. I making a name for myself and building relationships that are still solid ’til this day. Even in 2017-2018 as I branched out as an audio engineer, things just kept getting better. I kept growing. More people wanted to work with me. This gave me the confidence to transition this “music thing” from a hobby to a business and being a Business Management major helped me with the transition by nurturing my mindset like a businessman.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
To start, I like to identify myself as a businessman. I primarily make beats and engineer songs for artists, which are 2 favorable products/services I provide to clients.
As far as beats, I sell those digitally online with license agreements depending on the leasing option chosen.
On the other hand, I provide a home studio for clients to come record their records. In addition, I offer mixing/mastering services so the client can have a professionally quality record to release to their audience.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is the feedback/reaction from either a beat I make or a song I mix. There’s nothing like it. It’s reassurance and motivation for me but I don’t let it get to my head. I still remain humble and have the urge to learn more.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
To be honest, I want to break the traditionally life cycle. Nothing is wrong with working 9 to 5 jobs but I know I have the potential to do something much greater like what I am doing with music. Ultimately, I want to own a successful, profitable business that will carry on for generations. I want to impact lives around me and I truly believe I can achievement the status I’m working towards.
