We recently connected with Shenee Woodson and have shared our conversation below.
Shenee, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Growing up, my parents ensured we attended multi-cultural churches. Being ministers themselves, they also had a love for outreach. It was nothing for my siblings and I to be in the midst, handing out sandwiches, clothing, soup and Bible Tracs. When I first started His Favor Ministries, it was envisioned to create a platform for all races and cultures that uplifted the name of Jesus. “Where Diversity Is Celebrated” was the motto I stood by even when the magazines were published, it was the main focus. Now with the new business, Shenee’ Shares LLC, I have chosen to take everything that I have learned, ups and downs, and share with others so that they will live out their God-given potential.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a Baltimore native that started at a young age in the Music ministry. From playing the piano/keyboard, leading Praise/Worship, a part of the Liturgical Dance Ministry, Being a daughter of pastors, I began using my gifts at an early age. At age 18, I wrote and directed my 1st Children’s Christmas musical “David’s Promise” Gaining experience in Music, Marketing, Public Relations and Event Planning while serving several churches in the Maryland, DC and Virginia areas, I continued to develop my skills.
As time went on, my passion for writing began to resurface. I later became the managing editor and writer for several established national magazines. With all of these experiences, gifts and talents, she was later encouraged to branch out as co founder of Indimogul Magazine.
As the Co-Founder/Editor IN Chief of Indimogul Magazine, I began putting my writing skills into full action. Due to diligence, hard work and of course… favor; Indimogul Magazine in less than a year interviewed and featured Jekalyn Carr, Micah Stampley, Ben Tankard and many more! In the midst of handling Indimogul Magazine, the hat of published author was added with a fictional book of short-stories based on my life’s experiences, “The Mini-Series of Me”. From being molested, raped, divorced, mental health issues, homelessness and more, I was able to speak on a number of platforms including a women’s correctional facility and an all boys school.
However, as the magazine progressed, it was laid on my heart to change the name of the magazine to better fit its growing content. After much prayer and consultation from another editor, I did just that! January 2018, His Favor Magazine was born and soon after His Favor Ministries was launched as a business.
Under His Favor Ministries’ umbrella, other publications, His Favor TEEN Magazine, Men Of Favor (spanish magazine, Revista Cristiana Su Favor) surfaced. Shenee’ also helped other inspiring publicists to launch their own magazines.
After almost 4 years of great success, the decision was made to put her publicist hat down and share content via Youtube and Facebook Live with unrecorded interviews. Shenee’ has also announced that she has been diagnosed with a rare brain disorder, Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Although I am claiming my healing, I have joined the fight to bring awareness to these chronic illnesses. Shenee Shares LLC is my newest venture that allows me to do that as well as coach others to bring forth what is already in them!
Even with all of this, I serve as a professional development trainer for the Maryland Department of Human Services where I facilitate classes such as Public Speaking, Managing Stress, Ethics and Customer Service and many Leadership Development Trainings. I am also in pursuit of Masters of Arts: Applied Psychology: Developmental Psychology (degree). I will admit, with the 2 diagnosis, I have literally NO energy at times. I want to quit and just lie in bed. But for some reason, I am always reminded that all of this has nothing to do with me. I did not go through nor am I going through life, just to feel sorry for myself. There are people that need to be inspired, There are people that might never like a social media post or introduce themselves to me in person. However, they are watching my journey and are encourage to fight and take on another day.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source for me has been the good old fashion… word of mouth! A lot of people depend on social media, which is a great source and even for networking, but honestly, I have had people contact me because they “heard” about me from someone else.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Wow! So many! But one lesson I can share is that I should not do everything. I have experienced much stress, burnout, missed appointments and other not so successful moments because I wanted to do everything myself. I felt that no one was going to push the vision harder than me and I also felt that I would be a nusiance if I asked people for help. However, one day, someone said “You need people on your team. You need people that can do what you can’t do. Even if you can, get someone that can do it better!” When I finally broke down and allowed that to happen, I saw a big difference! Yes, the vision was given to you, but God will send the right laborers to help it be fulfilled.
