Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Wanda Micheal. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Wanda, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Mobile Music and Education for Kids mission is to provide a service that will benefit each type of learning style and encourage academic excellence at all levels of education. We are committed to educating the whole child through the arts and fitness. A whole child approach to education is defined by practices, policies, and relationships that ensure each child, in each school, in each community, is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, motivated, and challenged. We believe that not only does every child matter, but every aspect of the child matter. Teaching subjects through the arts and fitness creates a more engaging and active learning environment for kids. Students who are more motivated to learn persist longer, learn more deeply, produce higher quality efforts, and perform better in classes and on standardized tests. Our number one goal is to engage children in a way that they respond to, and have lots of fun while learning. When you make learning exciting, students are more willing to participate and often find the lesson not only more interesting and fun, but more memorable. Important skills are developed through musical play, rhythms, exercise, creative movement and games.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have an established background in both music and early childhood education. After operating a learning center for several years. I realized that learning styles are diverse, and it is incredibly difficult to engage each type of learner. As a result, in 2015 I founded Mobile Music and Education for Kids, an educational program committed to teaching the whole child through the arts, fitness, and lots of fun. I strive to meet the educational, health, and developmental needs of students through music and creative activities. I believe that not only does every child matter, but every aspect of the child matter. Teaching subjects through the arts and fitness creates a more engaging and active learning environment for kids. Important skills are developed through musical play, rhythms, exercise, creative movement and games. When you make learning exciting, students are more willing to participate and often find the lesson not only more fun, but more memorable. I am most proud of the number of students who have benefited from my unique teaching style, and my newly published educational game available anywhere books are sold.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
To build an audience on social media, you must invest a lot of time and energy into your business page. Posting reels and photos are a must, use hashtags to be found, hold contests, encourage tagging, invest a modest amount into paid advertisements, and give people a reason to follow you. Never, ever buy followers and fans. People assume that purchasing fans and followers is a shortcut to building a huge online community, but it will largely end up being more of a problem than it’s worth. It pollutes your audience insights, limits your ongoing performance, and will end up restricting the organic reach of your post. You should focus on creating post and sharing information that will attract the right people. When used thoughtfully and strategically, social media platforms can be a great way for brands and organizations to cultivate loyal followers, connect with stakeholders, and expand their audience.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
COVID-19 has had a devastating effect on my small businesses. After two years of pandemic related shutdowns, small business owners are now having to deal with inflation. Through it all, I have managed to publish an educational game and sign numerous contracts with local businesses.
