Carolina Hernandez

In 2010, I enrolled at The Art Institute of CA-SD where I graduated with a bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts-Fashion Design. During my time there, I learned different things from color theory, drawing, and painting to sewing, drafting patterns, and creating digital illustrations. The significance in the power of words and the profound effect that they have in shaping ones life, was the most important lesson impressed upon me very early on in my educational career. When I was in the second grade my teacher told my mom that God didn’t give me a good brain, and my sixth grade teacher told my mom that I would never make a good student, only a good person to go shopping with. Well, starting off I’d say going to Cosmetology school was a great plan, in theory. I never understand the phrase “you get what you pay for” until I went to the only school I could afford. The year I was in school was one of the most stressful of my life! During my cosmetology school we learned to do a lot of things including but not limited to all things hair, skin and nails.
