We recently connected with Amber Brown and have shared our conversation below.
Amber , appreciate you joining us today. Often outsiders look at a successful business and think it became a success overnight. Even media and especially movies love to gloss over nitty, gritty details that went into that middle phase of your business – after you started but before you got to where you are today. In our experience, overnight success is usually the result of years of hard work laying the foundation for success, but unfortunately, it’s exactly this part of the story that most of the media ignores. Can you talk to us about your scaling up story – what are some of the nitty, gritty details folks should know about?
As business owners, we are subject to error because we are human, however GOD’s word declares in Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge”. For a few years as a new business owner, I spent hundreds of dollars on storing up on products for my business, that I had no knowledge on how to market. I spent month after month and year after year, wondering why my business was at a standstill. After days and even hours of praying consulting GOD on what I was doing wrong, the LORD revealed to me that I needed a business mentor in order to position myself and my business for success. During my 12 weeks of mentorship, I allowed myself to be teachable and to hear the honest truth on why my business growth was stagnated. Not only were these 12 weeks a sacrifice, but it pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and do what I normally didn’t do. When I began to fulfill the tasks that were required of me during these weeks of mentorship, I began to feel more confident and assured that these were the tools and resources that I needed to scale my business to the next level. I can honestly say that success does not happen overnight, however growth produces the spirit of excellence overtime. Also, let me encourage you as well, that times do get hard and it can be very challenging, however make sure that you don’t make quitting as an option because your best days are just ahead of you.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Hello! My name is Amber Brown, and I am honored to share the journey of my business venture. I have actively been in business since September of 2018. During my teenage years, I began to have such an admiration for the beauty industry. I started wearing beautiful long curly extensions, eyelashes, lip stick and so much more. Fast forward, as a growing adult my desire for the beauty industry intensified, where GOD has led me to birth my very own beauty brand in which today, I am proud to announce, “Graced 4 Beauty Collection, LLC”. Here at Graced 4 Beauty, we offer a wide selection of beauty, hair and skin products. We also provide a selection of stylish lash extensions and amazing scent smelling hair products for natural hair maintenance as well as for wig care maintenance. The problems that we serve for our clients are providing quality hair products for damaged or hair loss, bald spots, edge repairs, and etc. We also provide hairstylists with durable and sufficient hair products that are necessary and required for proper and long-lasting wig installations. Majority of the time these products are not used correctly, which causes a reduction in the time frame that a client has to wear their wig extensions. I strongly believe that our ability to be authentic, with our clients and knowledgeable about our products is what sets our company aside from the other competitors within the beauty industry. Also, providing our clients with an option to wholesale our beauty products, makes a difference which causes our company to gain recognition, influence and to be set apart from our competition. As a business owner, I am most proud of making the necessary sacrifices that I needed in order to operate my business the way that GOD has intended me to operate it. I am also proud of allowing the creativity that GOD has instilled in me to come to life and to express the significance of my beauty products.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Before building an audience, it is very important to identify who your target audience is FIRST. To be honest, when I first started in business, I was only thinking about gaining the popularity in numbers. For example: (10k, 20k, 50k and etc.). I wasn’t aware or had any knowledge of knowing who my target audience was, I only assumed. When my mentor began to explain the importance of having the right target audience, I felt as if i hit the lottery and won BIG. I started making weekly videos, reels and posting on a consistent basis about my products as well as my faith-based religion. As I began to narrow down who my ideal audience was, I began to receive clarity, understanding and knowledge. Also, when I began to reposition myself differently from my competitors, not only did my audience grow, but my influence did as well. I also built my audience through the usage of reels on Instagram. My very first reel I stepped out on faith and trusted GOD and surprisingly it hit 5,500 views! I built my audience through consistency, faith and determination. I was and still is determined to WIN. and dominate within my industry.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Before the outbreak of covid-19, I would meet with my clients in person. However, when covid began to spread severely, I had to take full precautionary measures by communicating with my clients by way of via phone, zoom, email and etc. As a business owner I believe in safety first and needed to make an urgent pivot in the way that I was communicating with my clients. This was for the safety of my clients as well as myself as the business owner. During these transitions I was still able to successfully provide the necessary services that were requested from my clients to my clientele.
