We were lucky to catch up with Pasavia Janeise recently and have shared our conversation below.
Pasavia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope that my legacy will be that, I projected black excellence in ALL its glory! That I curated spaces and opportunities for other black entrepreneurs and creatives, not just in Kansas City and Memphis but America. We all are dreaming the difference is putting the work in to make them dreams come true so that when the door of opportunities present itself walking through isn’t an issue. My Legacy will create generational wealth for multiple black families.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
If you haven’t heard of me yet no problem, my name is Pasavia Janeise, I own an independent digital content studio, providing multiple professional services! Specializing in event photography and graphic design, videography and creative direction are the newest services that are near and dear to my heart! I have always wanted to direct my own flim or tv show ever since I started reading books for pleasure 20yrs ago. Sistah Souljah’s The Coldest Winter Ever introduced me to myself in a totally different world like she did to Whitley in the A Different World sitcom. That book and that sitcom plays a huge role in my character as a black woman living and dreaming in America.
When I graduated from High School you couldn’t tell me I wasn’t going to save all the black children through psychology! After attending and graduating from the only HBCU in Memphis ,TN with a BFA that mission is still prevalent just broader. and through the lens of my camera or the direction of my vision. I hope Suite P Studios legacy is Black Excellence Exposure, creating avenues, opening doors and opportunities for young black entrepreneurs and creatives gain generational wealth while living their dreams.

Clients love her work from theirs just check out the Google reviews yourself. As a novice you wouldn’t understand but, other photographers would know what I mean. Their should never be a cap, you should always want to grow within your craft. Not for competitive reasons but, for just becoming the best version of yourself and offer your clients the best experience, service, and quality work. My sessions are affordable and priced to give minorities the chance to Experience Excellence and create moments to last them, their families and friends a life time.
GRAPHIC DESIGN – Changing my major my sophomore year LOC to Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design was the beginning of something amazing! I never really understood my value as a creative or as a person to be honest I started to become fully aware of my worth and the energy my presence and perspective can bring to people. I took a criminal Justice class because one of my intro to freshman class, professor Daphne Whitaker inspired and motivated me out of my silent back of the room observant comfort zone. She placed me in situations where I had to talk and speak up on my thoughts and opinions, stand on what I say, and feel pressured todo what doesn’t feel right within my spirit. She is the reason I took Professor Dotson into to design class and from their I have seem to alway be in certain rooms doing the right thing, at the right time, around the right people. My creative critical thinking skills has taken me to places I dreamed of and some I dint know I could dream of until it was presented to me. I have been around the world at no cost to me only gaining more knowledge, understanding, wisdom, and motivation to open a door that can offer someone else of my demographic that same feeling. I grew up in a Single parent household with no for sure stability, we moved hundreds of times it seems like. I could never really build lasting close friendships because we didn’t stay put for too long plus I am a loner by nature so getting me to talk then, was like talking to a therapist. I give just enough to make you feel comfortable within my presence, that trait is still shining though lol. That and I am definitely a VIRGO let the people I did and do build great bonds with.
Moving along, VIDEOGRAPHY is the newest service offered by Pasavia. A SuiteVizion Production, is what she directs and shoots her cinematography business through. From event highlights to music videos, the goal is to direct tv/movie films that reflect black culture in its purest forms. Showcasing the Essence of Black Excellence! Currently working on a TV Romantic/Drama series called LUV ON THE VINE! Coming soon 2023 tap into the website to see the Pitch Bible www.suitepstudios.com.

Im most proud of the relationships and networks I have built on this journey of tapping into my full potential.
I would like my clients, fans, and supporters to know that I AM A VIBE, Suite P experience is just that. Think about it like this! Would you rather book a motel room or a hotel suite and receive all the amenities that come along with the Suite Life?
At Suite P you receive everything that Pasavia Janeise has to offer plus more.
What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
Even though I majored in Graphic Design it was just a gateway, now that I have grown into this well known event photographer and graphic designer in Kansas City and Memphis.
Photography was a side thing just something I had to learn but enjoyed learning the most outside of graphic design. I began directing and recording videos in college of my friends like when they crossed over after pledging, and at events before the iPhone camera took over and made everyone feel like Spike Lee! Joining the homecoming board I became the creative director for the annual fashion show my sophomore year at LeMoyne-Owen College (LOC).
Then I wrote, directed, recorded, and co-edited my first skit to promote the annual coronation ball. Now I have music videos out and I am apart of award winning podcasts, talk shows. I am on set of movies capturing major artists at concerts capturing the BTS (Behind The Scenes) footage and currently about to direct my first tv series that I wrote. Jumping into photography because of the crappy pictures I would receive from local upcoming artist to create flyers, posters, and cover art with. I knew how to take a quality photo so created a package deal, I bought a photography studio lighten kit from Amazon and turned my living room into a mini studio for artist to take headshots. At that same time I also began working for LOC about a year after graduation.
I couldn’t find anybody to hire me as a graphic designer, so once I got the phone call to work with the athletics department as a graphic designer to help with designing the website, programs, posters, calendars get social media content through my business name, not as an employee but, as a consultant. I started taking my craft more serious and legalizing my company because that’s the only way a non-profit organization is going to pay your company and not you personally.
During COVID19 I moved back home to Kansas City and started building Suite P LC. Through networking, offering FREE SERVICES to The Who’s who of KC getting my foot in the door. Now its stuck and I have had the pleasure and honor todo some wonderful things because of A SuiteVizion through my Cannon Lens.
Its all about setting goals and making the hard sacrifices to achieve those goals. Everyone can dream its free and nothing to it more like fantasies. We have to put on work clothes and treat our own business like the Fortune 500 company that you get up early and stay up late for. I have plenty of sleepless nights running off 3-4hrs of sleep, living on a low budget so that I can build my business its not a race but a marathon. And you are not the only one running but, it is not a competition we all win after pushing through and crossing that finish line.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding is seeing my visions become reality and then the joy that it brings to my client afterwards. I always try and make sure to create a super relaxed, comfortable vibe for my clients. I have learned that when people enjoy your presence along with your creativity and production it opens more doors for them to talk about you and your services. I also had to learn that not everyone is going to be satisfied and that doesn’t mean I am not great at what I do, that just mean we didn’t click and that is okay.
