Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tom Meredith . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Tom, thanks for joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
I’ve NEVER SHARED THIS WITH ANYONE… Holy Fuck!! Let me go!! Where am I?! Let me go!! was the first thing I yelled when I woke up inside the craft. I was mentally strapped to a cold metal table covered in hot sticky sweat. I was breathing heavily as if id just ran a marathon. I was dizzy with flashing bright lights in my face. I couldn’t see them but have flashbacks of their outlines. There was one tall skinny figure and two smaller ones. They mentally told me not to worry and that I would be shown the “way”. They told me to take more risks and always trust my intuition. They flashed a map before my eyes and all I could make out was an outline of this specific body of water. I was told that when my soul was ready it would lead me to the water. The next thing I knew I was in the field next to my house and I had lost an hour or so of time. It happened in 1995 when I was just 13 years old and I’ve always kept it to myself.
Years go by and almost weekly I still had dreams of this body of water. In the dreams the entities would tell me I still wasn’t ready and to stay focused. Then in 2020 I had a dream that said “you are ready” “walk to Guntersville”. I immediately woke up and wondered what Guntersville was and then went back to sleep. Then next night I had another dream and it felt like I was receiving a slow download of information into my brain. A voice said that I was ready to walk to Guntersville. It slowly revealed the map of the body of water the beings had showed me when I was 13.The map became clearer and clearer with every detail revealing itself to be Lake Guntersville in Guntersville, Alabama.
The next day all I could think about was the significance of Guntersville, Alabama and wondering why I was told to walk there. Why had I been unknowingly dreaming of this Lake for 25 years? I was searching the internet for clues and up popped this old video from 1995 which was the same year I was abducted and first shown the map. The video showed an angry man in Huntsville Alabama ranting about people with attitudes and fancy sports cars that don’t have to walk everyday so they just get out and Strut That Ass. He asks “Why don’t you just walk to Guntersville?!” “Its just 38 miles!” It was that moment that I knew my purpose in life was to walk from that exact spot in Huntsville all the way to Guntersville.
So I set out on the biggest risk taking journey of my life. To walk the unknown path to Guntersville. My friends and family said I was crazy and that I’d never make it the full 38 miles. I knew deep in my soul I would make it to the promised land of Guntersville and rid the world of its chauvinistic pig attitude. I had finally learned why I was abducted in 1995 and was told to walk to Guntersville. MY soul was finally ready for this divine walk.
Sure enough I walked the full 38 miles from Huntsville to Guntersville. It was not easy as I was literally almost half dead by the time I got to New Hope. I pushed through the pain and finally made it to Guntersville. My soul felt fulfilled and complete. I was ready to rid the world of all the chauvinistic pig attitudes. I had fully become the Old Man Strutting from the original video.
What would happen next is still unfolding to this very day.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Everything stems from the abduction. My life’s mission was to walk to Guntersville. After the walk I partnered with a Brewery in Huntsville, AL in creating a craft beer that would honor and celebrate the legacy of Old Man Strut. I also became friends with Antoine Dodson, the most famous person in Alabama. Antoine is a real life hero who saved his sisters life from an attacker. He was also able to successfully hide the kids from the attacking bandit. The bandit turned out to be really dumb for real and left his t shirt along with fingerprints. We also made a craft beer celebrating Antoine’s heroic accomplishments. We then partnered with local charities to give back to the community. The charities spread love and joy through their fancy sport supercars. Just as Old Man Strut hated fancy Mercedes Benz sportscars this proves that not all people with exotic supercars have chauvinistic pig attitudes.
In addition to the beer I make Old Man Strut T Shirts, music, & art. I also filmed to walk to Guntersville and it won the most prestigious “Golden Pitcher” award at All the Laughs Comedy Film Festival. Stay tuned for more exciting Old Man Struts coming soon!
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The goal is to always take the risk and follow your heart. Always dive deep into your soul and you will find your own Guntersville waiting there for you to explore.
Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I have created many NFTs and even a new digital currency called Strutcoin that will be coming out it the future. We must embrace these new technologies, take risks, and push forward to Guntersville
