Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jessica Falcone . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jessica , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Starting and creating the business, Jessica Elizabeth Skincare was the biggest risk I’ve ever taken. We were just starting to learn and hear about the Corona Virus in 2020 and I literally had just signed a contract for the next 5 years on a space in downtown Syracuse that would need 100% renovations. The lease was out of budget at the time and the space was in dire repair of updates. During that time, not only was I nervous of what my future held with this new venture, but I was also struggling mentally with an ugly divorce trying to balance everything in my professional life and personal life.
I would constantly ask myself Questions such as “what the hell are you doing?” “What are you thinking?” “Are you sure about this?” Each time, my answer was always the same. Just. Keep. Going. So that’s what I did. I focused on taking care of myself and my two children and just get looking ahead.
We started the construction in January and got to about 3 months in when we were all forced to “shut down”. That’s when the stress really began but still I just kept going with it. I got this far already and couldn’t just quit now.
I would keep in touch with all of my clients offering whatever skincare services I could. We would do zoom calls, working on facials together, teaching and advising them what to do with their skin and the health of their skin and what products they could use until I was able to go ahead and start working again.
Little by little we were finally able to complete the construction but we weren’t able to open. We were still waiting for permission to go ahead and work. They had given everyone else other than my industry the go but, we were last on that list. So here I was with a beautiful office just sitting there. Mu landlord was amazing and kind enough to defer the rent until construction was complete.
Finally by September I was able to open. My office had 2 treatment rooms and a bathroom. There was a small space in the front that fit 2 chairs and a desk for reception. It was beautiful but was missing something. I still hadn’t decorated the walls. I had this one long winding wall that went from the front to the end of the office and I wasn’t sure what to put there. Then the idea hit me. It needed a mural. It needed something to tell my story.
I already had the logic theme in my logo and around my office in the tile and light fixtures so I knew I knew I needed to continue with that. The mural was designed with lotus. Soft pinks, creams, golds, silvers. It was stunning but the story behind it was even more. The mural represented symbols of strength, resilience, healing and rebirth. Everything that I felt I was experiencing went into that mural. My office was my sanctuary. My place to help others find their confidence and strength as well.
Within a year I created a team. I had brought in two more aestheticians one with a dual license in massage therapy and I also had a Nurse practitioner for all of the medical treatments that we would offer. We were all crammed in, sharing all of the rooms and taking turns. Thats when I decided that we needed more space. Was I crazy? Do I expand a year later?
Let’s do this! So I did. We knocked down walls and started a new project. This time we added in 3 more treatment rooms, an additional bathroom and break room. It was complete but not finished. I again needed to add on to my story. So again with the matching wall in the other side, another mural went up. The same concept as the first but this time it held something more. This time, it was deeper. Bold colors of purples and pinks along with the gold and silvers. Butterflies and a stunning woman is featured on this wall. My story continues. This time, representing, growth, courage, strength, confidence and movement.
2 years in business 5 treatment rooms later with an amazing team of women who I can call sisters.
I built my dream. It all started with taking a risk but what I had learned throughout all of it is that you can constantly live in fear, being afraid that you will always fall but if you take a step forward? You just may fly.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve been an aesthetician for about 7 years. I was married with 2 children, Julia and Joseph and I was a stay at home mom for 8 years. Before that I went to nursing school but decided that it wasn’t the path for me. Helping people has always been something I loved to do and I had such a strong passion for skincare, so I decided to get into the aesthetics field. I help others who struggle with acne and skincare issues. Finding and helping them with solutions rather than just going on medication to mask it is something I truly love the most. It’s the before and after for me. The confidence that I help restore. We offer skincare treatments for both men and women along with laser hair removal, teeth whitening and medical injections like Botox and fillers. We also have a retail side with skincare such as Skinbetter science, my own personal line that I created named Jessica Elizabeth Skincare, Glymed Science and Farmhouse fresh. We also offer small items such as bracelets that hold intentions, , candles and more. So there’s something for just about everyone!
My office is not only a place to come to for an appointment but also to feel good about yourself. It’s a place where you’re wanted and we can’t wait to see you to catch up. There’s a sense of sisterhood there with all of our clients and it’s truly and amazing feeling. We are all family.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Growing up in a broken family and living on my own at 17, I had always learned to not trust or depend on anyone. . I had dropped out of high school for personal reasons, put myself through college and always supported and took care of myself. No one helped me and I grew to think that’s the way of life. It’s not. There are always people out there that are willing to help.
When I first started my business I had no money and just a used HydraFacial Machine. With the relationships I had developed I learned that there are people that you can trust and lean on.
I remember, One of the inmode reps letting me borrow her laser hair removal hand piece just so I could save enough money to buy my own.
And the Skinceuticals skincare rep reaching out and working her tail off just to get me the skincare line I wanted.
These people helped me and I learned that it’s ok to take help and to trust. For so long I was closed off from so many things that I experienced in life and learned that it’s ok to open up and be vulnerable sometimes.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media is where I started. I feel that with social media inwas able to get myself out there and people were able to see who I was and what I had to offer. Instagram is what I use to show off alot of my work and I’m constantly posting stories and engaging with others on there. I’ve have met so many people in the industry and in others I’ve developed a lot of relationships and have learned about others products through it all.
