Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Faith Schueler. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Faith , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I think the biggest risk I’ve taken in life is deciding to pursue my music career full time and give it everything I have. When I hear the word risk, I think of the word “faith”. Sometimes you just have to have faith that everything is going to work out the way it should. Writing music and putting it out there for the entire world to hear is pretty scary. But I believe when you have a passion and something you feel that moves you, you should allow it to be shared with the world because you never know how your story or your music could impact someone else. Deciding to pursue my dream, was taking a risk. It was me facing the fact that I will be told no, I will be faced with hard times and trials, I will get knocked down, things may not always turn out in my favor. but there is a risk in everything you do, no matter what career or path you decide to take. Some of the best things in life happen when you take a chance, when you take that risk. Once you reach your goal and what you are working so hard for, all of the hard times will have been so worth it.
Faith , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi! My name is Faith Schueler. I am a country artist and songwriter. I grew up in a small town right outside of Charleston, SC and now I live in Nashville, TN! Growing up, I loved music. I knew singing was my passion from a very young age. My mom jokes and says I was humming myself to sleep every night before I could even talk. I was the little girl with bright eyes and big dreams. I loved putting on shows for my family and would dance and sing down every single isle in the grocery store. As I got older, I found interest in dancing where I eventually joined a competitive dancing team. When I was 9 years old- I decided to move on from dancing and pursue music. So my mom put me in piano lessons and I fell in love with not only singing, but playing music. When I was 13 years old, I began writing my own songs and taking them to open mics at local coffee shops to perform them in front of a real audience. I loved it so much, that i decided to join the worship team at my church which is where I absolutely fell in love with singing on a stage. I remember feeling so at peace and so connected with the music when I sang it. It was almost like I knew this is what I wanted to do forever. Flash forward to a few years later to when I was 16, I finally recorded my very first song. My mom told me that if I wrote a song that I loved and I felt confident in, she would take me to the recording studio. I remember the first time stepping into a recording studio. I felt so anxious, but the good kind of anxious that gives you butterflies. It was one of the most magical moments of my entire life and I will never forget that day. When I was 17 years old, I went to Nashville for the very first time to record my EP “One Love Song at a Time”. This completely changed my career. I got to meet so many amazing writers and my wonderful producer Greg Bieck. Working in Nashville really helped me make friends and not only grow as an artist, but as a person. I learned so much about the music industry and how it works. After I released my EP, I put out a song called “Getting Over You” which went viral on TikTok and Facebook gaining over 10 million total views. This allowed so many people to hear my music and gave me the opportunity to connect with my fans. I went back and forth from Charleston to Nashville for about 4 years and this year, I finally decided to take that leap of faith and get my own apartment in Nashville! Currently, I am continuing to write and release music and playing shows around the Nation. I have been so blessed and I am so excited to continue this crazy journey ahead of me.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is being able to share my music with the world and allowing my message to help others. Throughout my career, I have had so many people come forward and tell me how my song helped them through a hard time or how they related to a song. Knowing that my music is helping someone else and bringing people together, is more joy than any award or title will ever give me.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
There are many ways you can build an audience on social media. Personally, I try to connect with my fans by being genuine and staying true to myself. When you can show people who you really are and share the good times and the hard times, I think you are able to resonate with a much wider audience. People will begin looking at you like a friend rather than a person on a screen. I love to post fun content about my brand that catches peoples attention and gets them excited about something new. I try to always have meaning in whatever I post to allow my fans to connect with me on a more personal level. Just don’t be afraid to be unique and to be YOU!
