Kristin, appreciate you joining us today. Do you manage your own social media?
Social Media is ever so important with growing a business. As much as I would like to take credit for growing our social media accounts I can not my twin daughters Hanna and Hope have grown our social media accounts. Their countless hours on our Instagram, Reels, Tik Tok’s and social media content has been outstanding. Tink’s Magical Vacations, Instagram account has over 75K followers. Hanna and Hope understand the algorithms and analyze what works and what is trending. To say that I am forever great full is an understatement. With their age group knowing so much more about what works best on social media has done wonders for the business.

Have you ever had to pivot?
During the Covid-19 pandemic travel agents had to really pivot and be sure to still remain engaged with their clients. The pandemic proved to be a extremely difficult time with cancellations and the unknown of when travel would resume. Once traveling did resume travel planners, needed to remain up to date on the all of the new travel restrictions and guidelines. This was important time to be sure that my team stayed a breast of all of the new travel requirements and be sure to convey it to guests. Guests needed to understand what the testing and vaccine requirements for their desired travel destination(s) were. These requirements often times helped guests decide if this vacation destination was the best for their family. My team of agents really stepped up and were all there to help with the needs of their clients.
Any advice for managing a team?
Team moral has always been extremely important to me while building my business. During the pandemic I felt keeping moral up was my number one priority not only for my team but also our valued clients. That is why we held weekly trivia nights for our guests, as well as themed entertainment via Zoom. These events not only brought our team closer also our guests. It kept Tink’s in our clients minds and allowed them a way to have some fun and not think about the pandemic for a while. We had virtual cruise nights, cocktail parties, themed dress up nights, fun making videos for social media, and so many other engaging Zoom calls. Our agents really became family during this time. Our food exchanges really made for some delicious days!
