We were lucky to catch up with O’CEAN HILL recently and have shared our conversation below.
O’CEAN, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I learned at the early age of 4 years old that I wanted to pursue a career in the entertainment field. I would always be imitating great artists like Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and Tom Jones.. I would perform for my friends & family every chance I can get especially at family gatherings and also in school. By the time I was 12 years old I was already writing my own songs.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have been a creative person all my life, it started to be very obvious to my family and friends by the time I was 4 years old. Then when I got to elementary school I started to perform at the school talent shows and started to get peoples attention. By the time I was 15 years old I was doing shows all around New York and I was in a television show called ” Putting on the hits”. By my senior year everyone in my home town of Yonkers New York knew that I sang, danced, and wrote my own material.
The turning point of my career was when I was chosen to be the opening act for the biggest singing group at the time “New Kids on the Block” in Boston Massachusetts. That was a life changing experience for me and it was quite clear that bringing happiness to the world using my music as a vessel was my destiny and what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
Although music is my first love, I am also an author, a screenwriter and I have my own Podcast called “The WonderGround Podcast”.
I feel what makes me stand out the most is the connection I Have with people. People feel my energy and I feel there’s whether is through my music, my Podcast, or in person the connection that is shared between us is very special and I feel very blessed to be able to have that sort of experience with everyone I interact with..
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I believe in my heart that my mission and purpose in life is to bring happiness to people from all walks of life using my creative outlets as a vehicle. I want to continue to use my music, books, screen plays and Podcast as an instrument to serve people. Because I truly believe that in serving each other we become free.

What do you find most rewarding about being creative?
The most rewarding aspect for me as an artist is when people tell me that one of my songs changed their lives or when a listener of my Podcast tells me that they were having a bad day and when they tuned in to my podcast that it totally changed the way they were feeling and it brought a smile to there faces and completely changed there mood, when I hear that it just confirms to me that I am doing what GOD put me on this planet to do and that is to bring happiness to everyone I come in contact with.
