Mayah , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Music and singing was a huge part of my child hood. I sang in church, participated in plays and musicals in my hometown, and I sang in my schools honors choirs growing up but I didn’t start taking my music career seriously until my junior year of high school. That’s when I found out about Berklee College of Music. I had been taking vocals lessons at the time. My vocal teacher told me about Berklee because that’s where she attended college. She spent that whole Summer preparing me for my audition for Berklee. When I got my acceptance letter to Berklee I knew it was go time! While at Berklee, I studied both music business and performance. The environment pushed me as a singer and a musician. Overall, my experience at Berklee helped shape me into the artist I am today.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
