Derricka, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I hope my legacy will continue to grow, for generations to generations. It’s important to know what beauty means, and what it does for anyone, the confidence it builds in a person. The smiles I put on peoples face , keeps me going. It also allows me to come up with more Ideas to bring happiness in the world.

Derricka, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi I’m Derricka owner of Fancy Cosmetic & Beauty. I got into my industry by wanting to make people feel beautiful on the outside as well as inside. It’s takes discipline , self courage, confidence and knowing who you are as a person. Once I knew what I wanted to do, I went for it without stopping . It’s important to believe in yourself, I’m a hair stylist, I provide beauty products, an natural health care products as well as cosmetic products. I make sure to connect with my clients, for me it’s more than just doin your hair, I want to make sure you feel confident, look your best, and is happy with my service. If your feelings down or having hair growth issues , I’m here to solve them.. an start a solution for the better. Love is in the hair lol! I’m mostly proud of what I can do for others, an how they feel once I’m done providing services, that’s what keeps them coming back. It also helps me know areas most clients or customers need help in or what gets them to feel themselves as well as me. My brand is unique because, I’m all in one. Cosmetics, beauty and natural products providing more than just services … I provide a friendly friend ship for a lifetime!
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
My most effective way to grow, is to just keep up with what’s trending. From the hair styles I do, the products I make, products I sell and post on social media. I’m alwys coming up with new ideas, to catch peoples eye. And when you have good customers service they always come back or tell a friend.

Any fun sales or marketing stories?
So for me ,I love to get exposure. When having a small business it’s important to get people to know who you are and what you do. It’s more than just social media, on some days I go out in the real world an do direct sales, letting people get that touch an feel of what I have. I give away samples , who doesn’t like free stuff lol!! I host events, Pop up shops, business webinars etc… for the people to see in person what you can do, wheather your business is a start up or ongoing. It’s never a small amount or big.. I love when I host my Pop UP Shops!! It’s a fun experience, and I give others a way to expose their business an come up with ideas to connect and interact with one another! During the pandemic inflation was happening, it was challenging because people businesses were falling apart, having to make difficult decisions on how to keep their business up an running. There are always a way around it. I just had to sit down and make plans.
