We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Veronica Romero-Chapman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Veronica below.
Veronica, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
After working for 5 years in corporate America I came to realize I was trading my knowledge & time with these corporations for money that can’t replace my presence in my family’s life, so I searched & researched what can I do to change this and I decided that I would take over my side hustle to a full time thing, where I can be the owner of my time while supporting my family. This wasn’t a change done suddenly, it has taken a lot of planning and I couldn’t be doing this shift without the support of my husband and the guidance of God, whose blessings overflow my life every day. My mission is to help reach success to businesses that work smart every day through digital marketing offering services like social media management, Facebook & Instagram Ads setup and management and product photoshoot services.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
Sure! My name is Veronica and I run Chapman Creative Agency. I’ve been in the digital marketing business for about 6 years now and in the blogging world about the same time with workingclassmomblog.wordpress.
I just recently turned into a self employed gal, managing Chapman Creative Agency, where I’m a digital marketing strategist, managing social media for my clients as well as Facebook & Instagram ads and I create things like posters, flyers, billboards, websites and things like that along with my team, you can like my facebook page at www.facebook.com/
But wait, I’m a mexican expat living in the USA since september 2014, when I packed 2 suitcases (literally) and took a leap of faith into marriage and a whole new life with my husband, Allen. It’s funny when I tell people that I did that after 2 years of online dating! But everything worked out and I can say that it hasn’t been easy. I’ve been under intensive treatment in the hospital in 2 different ocassions but with the support of my family I have overcome great challenges and of course, above all, with the strength that God has given me.
In Mexico I was a jewelry designer and I can proudly say I was part of museum exhibitions in Barcelona, Spain, and around Mexico’s main cities along with an art collective called Proyecto Joya, with whom we even were part of a green catwalk event, besides being featured in magazines like Harpers Bazaar, Joya and many more. But all things come to an end and that’s alright!
When I moved to pursue a life in the USA with my loving husband, my life changed drastically. Family, weather, traditions, my productive life, my view of God, everything changed. On one hand I arrived when the warm weather was fading away and believe me when I tell you that I had never seen snow in my whole life until I moved here! Now I was discovering the married life with my newly wed online boyfriend I had only spend 2 weeks in person in the previous 2 years, jajajaja; plus selling jewelry in the United States is very different than in Mexico and back then I was lacking the means to buy everything to setup a jewelry studio like the one I had in Mexico, and in this transition I got pregnant with a beautiful baby, the light of my heart, so now that I look back, I know that every single circumstance that have happened in my life have a purpose.
I was a happy stay at home momma but the little bug of entrepreneurship will not leave my body, so I started to discover the blog world while I started a part time job at a local non profit. In this period of time I had my first baby steps into digital marketing and an american job experience, in a different language and although I knew english from school, it was different to speak it every day all day. Then corporate America swallowed me whole for 5 years, but now I’m back to being faithful to my dream of entrepreneurship, serving businesses in their expansion journey. I have done social media management since 2016 and I even keep customers from back then. In 2021 I started to train as a Facebook Ad Manager and that lead into my certification from a prestigious Digital Marketing guru called Jody Milward. After a few months of study, live coaching and thorough exams I earned my badge as an Elite Ad Manager on August 2022 and a few months later I took the leap of going full time, head first into my own business, so if you know a coach or online course creator that will benefit from growing their audience and getting new sales, feel free to recommend my services. All referrals are very appreciated!
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Well, when someone talks about how to pivot, I can share about my personal pivot experience from being a corporate America full time bank employee who pivoted into a Digital Marketing Agency business owner. This change has made me grow so much in many aspects of my life. The key is to keep the focus. My focus during this whole everchanging journey that is called life is my family and God. They say there’s nothing more certain than change, everyday we are changing, as persons, as part of a family, as productive entities at work, we are changing all the time and to be centered in material things like setting your goals on money, cars or who’s got the biggest house is just going to make you feel empty, with a lack of purpose because at the end you may find you are the owner of many material things, but what’s in your heart? Your heart is going to be there with you in abundance or in poverty, so it’s better to have it strengthen and what better strength than the one that comes from God. It’s better to center in growth, be a better daughter, be a better wife, be a better mom, be a better business woman, be a better citizen, be a better christian. Aim high. While I was going thru this changes in my life I knew that my worth was more than my wage and my belongings, I have never stop thinking that my life is in God’s hands and even when sometimes I resist, I let God take me where he wants me to be and I have had amazing experiences this way, so I know that He is always right.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Back when I was thirty I thought that people with a disability was unfortunate, I felt pity for them. Back then I considered myself as pretty much, indestructible. I was disciplined, ate healthy, exercised every day, worked on my trade over 10 hours per day, I took God for granted and behaved in a less than ideal way with men. I listened to not very godly music, my goals were in the having more than in the being. But God had different plans for me, so one day my brain said no more, I ended up in the hospital and since then I have been considered as disabled in some way. I found that to have a disability is like having black or blue eyes, you just have it. Can you take treatment to improve? Yes? Go ahead! It doesn’t make you weak, actually is the other way, it makes you brave, different and you know what? Different is good too.
