Chrishea, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

This company was created out of a need for organic skincare products that cater to all skin types. This business is based on my dream to provide a affordable and viable solution to a decades old problem. Eczema and dry skin are so common in today’s society. If you ask anyone who has eczema, about the products to use, they will most often tell you that the products don’t smell like anything if they are moisturizing or if they have a fragrance it doesn’t moisturize very well. So Dipped In Shea has the solution. I knew this was a worthwhile endeavor because of the need for these products. Our mission here at Dipped In Shea is to handcraft quality products with YOU in mind. The most exciting part about my business is being able to help anyone from any walk of life with their skin.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

We started in our basement. This company was launched to cater to ALL SKINTYPES. “Handcrafted with you in mind” means just that. We produce products in small batches, using responsibly sourced ingredients. All of which are safe and pleasant for your family and the planet.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

This business was fueled by the need to be productive during the beginning of the pandemic. The funding source was from my very own pockets.

Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?

All Dipped In Shea products are formulated without sulfates, parabens, phthalates, or gluten, and are always certified vegan and cruelty-free. Our shampoos and conditioners, lotions, body butter, beard oil and hand creams are also made silicone-free, dye-free, or fragrance-free, based on your preferences. We use more than 60 natural ingredients in our custom formulations to help you achieve your ultimate hair/skin goals.

All of these products are handmade in small batches.
