We were lucky to catch up with Maggie Glenski recently and have shared our conversation below.
Maggie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
I took a life-changing risk when I quit my full-time job to open my company Wrinkle’s Media, a digital marketing agency, in the summer of 2021. I walked away from the security of a guaranteed paycheck, good benefits and paid family leave in search for an opportunity that could be both fulfilling and flexible. As a new mom, I needed to have more flexibility and control over my hours in order to better prioritize my family. At the same time, I wanted to make sure I was still feeling fulfilled in my career. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit and knew it was time to take the risk and go off on my own.
When I left my job, I didn’t entirely know what entrepreneurship would entail. While I have years of experience in digital marketing, I’m new to being a business owner. I was unsure of what was to come when I started my company, but that’s the type of challenge that excites me.
I have grown tremendously in this past year. One of the first things I learned as an entrepreneur is that you not only have to be willing to take risks, but you also need to know how to manage them. Since starting Wrinkle’s Media, I’ve taken plenty of risks and learned from them. I now know how to open a business, hire talent, secure clients and build something that I’m proud of. While I still have a lot to learn, I’ve greatly enjoyed the challenge of starting a company and developing new skills as a business owner.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m an award-winning digital marketer with 10+ years of experience working at global advertising agencies. I have worked with some of the most successful brands in the world such as Gatorade, ExxonMobil, Toyota, Danone and Intel. Over the years, I have gained expertise in social media strategy, content development, video production, website optimization and email marketing.
In 2021, I followed my dream of entrepreneurship and started my company Wrinkle’s Media, a consultancy that supports small business owners and entrepreneurs with digital and social media marketing. I leverage my creative expertise to help clients connect with their audience, grow their customer base and bring their business to the next level. I work with clients to define their marketing strategy, develop engaging content, manage platforms and deliver results.
While I offer corporate experience, I relate to small business owners, their entrepreneurial spirit and their drive to fulfill a dream. The “Wrinkle’s” name is inspired by Helen Wrinkle, my great, great aunt who opened a pharmacy in Missouri in 1933, a time when women-owned pharmacies were unheard of. Helen dreamt of providing medicine to those in need in her hometown and opened her store Wrinkle’s Pharmacy, which went on to support the community for over 85 years.
I share Helen’s entrepreneurial spirit and strive to work with others who have a dream of their own. I love working with local businesses who share a passion for creativity, family and hometown pride.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to manage some of the largest brands in the world, and I’ve built my reputation through the award-winning work I’ve done with them. In particular, I spearheaded initiatives with a team that grew Gatorade’s social media presence and forged new paths in the advertising industry, winning awards at industry-leading shows like Cannes, Clio and One Show.
Working with top-tier clients at worldwide advertising agencies, alongside award-winning creative teams, has helped me create a unique skill set. I’ve managed projects of all shapes and sizes – some with extraordinary budgets, some with limited dollars, some with paid media support, some without. I’ve had the opportunity to see what does and doesn’t work within the digital space. I know the importance of a sound strategy for a brand, and I have the experience needed to bring it to life.
Now through Wrinkle’s Media, I’m able to help small business owners and entrepreneurs who are looking to grow their companies but don’t have expertise in digital marketing. I bring my learnings on campaign development, project management and tools from working in worldwide, award-winning agencies to effectively serve clients at a fraction of the cost.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
It’s amazing how much word-of-mouth can help you grow your client base. Don’t downplay the importance of referrals. Someone you know now may introduce you to a new client down the road. Referrals can come from a friend, a past coworker or even a current client. So it’s vital to never burn bridges. People come back around, and they will remember you and the impression you left on them. Remember that relationships are a two-way street, so when you network with others, think about how can you help them out, not just how they can get you to that next client.
There are times that Wrinkle’s Media hasn’t been the right fit for a potential client (which is okay!), but I won’t turn down the opportunity to still meet with that business owner. I am always happy to help provide advice or make an introduction to someone who might be a better fit. I love making new connections, and I sincerely want to be a good resource in helping people with their business, whether that’s with Wrinkle’s Media or not. And you never know – it could result in a referral down the road.
