We recently connected with Beth Williams and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Beth thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I came up with the idea to start my own business through my own experiences. I noticed there were serious issues in the way many bridal beauty companies operated and the lack of experience and knowledge from the freelancers they used to execute services. Originally, I had no plans to start my own business but knew that with my knowledge, training, skills and years of experience I could offer people more than what is currently available.
My journey has been very rewarding because I do what I do as a labor of love and not fueled by greed. I care about my clients and become invested in them. I knew that by establishing my own brand and setting myself apart from competitors would be a pathway to success.
My abilities to do airbrush provided a unique approach not understood and offered by other industry professionals in the Carolinas. The misinformation circulating online due to lack of understanding frustrated me. It is important that I paint a different picture by educating others and showing them through my work the benefits and dazzling results that are achieved.
Celebrities expect nothing less and is the number one choice for brides. I am very excited as a business owner based in Ocean Isle Beach, NC to offer my expertise to those who expect nothing but the best.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
The journey that paved the road to where I am now started at a young age when I suffered on going skin problems. This not only affected me socially and emotionally but also my self-esteem. From this trauma I wanted to help others who also suffered from skin care concerns, I studied cosmetology and esthetics with advanced training in paramedical esthetics. Helping others became my mission in life
Today I am proud to be an industry leader with over 30 years’ experience. I have worked with respected doctors in the medical field, high profile clients and Prestige brands like Chanel and Lancôme.
After years of hard work, it was only natural that the road I travelled led me back to my roots in North Carolina to become a business owner.
All Dolled Up provides on-location hair and makeup to anyone, anywhere who wants to look beautiful and feel amazing for any occasion.
I am honored to announce that my team and I have been recognized and awarded the Makeup and Hair Prestige Award for the Southeast Region and the International Wedding Awards for 2022
Clients know that when they book “All Dolled Up” they are receiving the highest level of service, products and quality care.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Covid deeply hurt everyone, and the beauty industry was not immune. Layoffs were everywhere and the restructuring of major beauty brands from retail employees to corporate and executive levels were changed forever.
The world I once knew was unrecognizable and my future uncertain. I knew then I had to make a life changing decision by finally taking a leap of faith and becoming my own boss.
“All Dolled Up” was not originally meant to be a business. It was formed as labor of love. A way to rise above the uncertainty and take back control. I was able to continue doing what I love to do in helping others but by providing airbrush it allowed a contactless form of makeup application.
Once word got around within the community it has been full steam ahead ever since. I have never looked back and excited to continue to move forward, thrive and grow my brand.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Unlearn the fear of failure. There is a saying “Ships live for the surf, not for the harbor” As an entrepreneur I understood this philosophy. Letting go of my insecurities and fears is the only way I am going to evolve. Yes, safety is nice but not leaving the shore and taking risks by entering the water would not lead me to new horizons. So, I had to rethink and try new things.
There have been so many instances where the fear of failure would have set me back and what failure I did encounter only made me stronger, wiser and catapulted me further.
One situation that happened occurred early on in my career. I decided to take the plunge and travel to a new state and set up life in a new city for what I thought was a dream job opportunity. This is how I learned how fierce the beauty community can be. I buckled under pressure and within 6 months came back to the town I was so desperate to leave.
This experience opened up my eyes and what I thought was a mistake became clarity. I did eventually get out of that town forever for another wonderful opportunity but this time I was prepared. Through failure I was able to celebrate in my new success.
