We’ve always tried to ask the questions that matter but that are too awkward for people to ask their friends, family and coworkers without seeming dramatic. One of those questions is about mission and purpose – when’s the last time you asked a friend what their mission was? Too often we don’t talk about our own missions and don’t ask those close to us about theirs with the result being that our missions remain secret. Are you just a doctor or are you a doctor who wants to be there for patients in the way you wished your father’s doctor had been? People have incredible and meaningful missions, and we hope our conversations asking folks about their mission can inspire more such conversations in your life.

Back in 2011, I suffered from a huge burn-out. I wasn’t where I wanted to be in life and knew that I had to take steps in order to change my situation. Although I reached out for mental help, I noticed the ‘regular system’ didn’t provide me with any tools to overcome what I was going through. So I ended up falling back, not once, but several times during the years passing. It wasn’t until 2016 that I searched on the Internet for a way to treat my anxiety and depression. I found an experienced expert, bought his online course and it helped me a lot! That’s when the ball started rolling. Read more>>

At the core of everything we do at Botanical Brouhaha is the belief that every experience – both good and not-so-good – can provide wisdom and richness to the way we see the world, connect with others, and provide encouragement to those we come into contact with while walking through our days. We talk often about “flowering with purpose” because we see no reason to “do flowers” without using them to impact our community – and ultimately the world. Read more>>

The story behind my companies brand and mission has certainly evolved in the last few years. What planted the seed was my brother’s death in 2020. When someone you love dies, all you have left are the pictures and memories. When my brother passed away, my family and I were so nervous to even touch all of the photos of him, it was as if we were gazing at piles of gold. One significant regret was not having enough pictures with him. His life and his loss of life created such an impact on us, and I knew that I wanted to do something in memory of him while I am still on this earth. Read more>>

At the age of 17, I was in high school and heading to get lunch. I stopped at a green light waiting to turn when a truck ran a red light and hit my car. That day almost ended my life, leading me toward the eternal stoplight, but stopping me just short. That accident put me in a place where people were saying phrases that started with “Jeff will never…” Because I do not like being told that I am unable to do something I have taken those “Jeff will never…” statements and turned them into my “Make Every Second Count” moments. modestfashiondesigners.com is my advocacy. I want to help underprivilege creatives and start-up brands find their voice in the industry. My platform is the starting point of their career. When I launched in 2021, some of the designers/brands I featured in my virtual fashion show are start-ups. From there, they were able to understand their branding, showcase their new collections, and found their way in the industry. Some of them were featured in talk shows now, in international fashion shows, etc. I believe it gave them more courage that they can be something. All it takes is for them to go from a starting point which is our platform. Read more>>

I saw an interview with Lauren London recently. She spoke about sitting on the front row of a funeral and how it changes your perception. I’ve sat on the front row 3 times in the last 14 years. The most recent, two times, in 5 years. One funeral being my bestfriend of over a decade in 2017 and my mother last year in 2021. To even be standing right now is a testimony, worth a nice shout. People don’t often think about how truly, life is so short. Not only do I want to honor their memory, but I was placed here to help “bridge the gap in my community” with home ownership. Read more>>

I’ve always created music for myself and, honestly, just appreciate having the opportunity to do so . However, it would be very foolish of me to not recognize that my music does have an impact on others. I am a Nigerian-American Hip-Hop artist. I went against the standard expectation of being a Doctor, Lawyer, or Engineer. Granted, I have my Mechanical Engineering degree and have done design work, but music is the path I chose. I hope doing this for myself inspires others from similar backgrounds to also do what they’re genuinely passionate about. regardless of others’ expectations for them. Read more>>

My mission is to introduce people to Black electronic music because what is not understood is that electronic music IS Black music. duoFIT Maternity was created out of the personal need for better performing, better quality and cuter maternity activewear. Through my first two pregnancies I did what most women do; bought the “classic” maternity leggings that either rolled down my bump, stretched out, were see-through and pilled after a few wash and wears. After that, I tried spending the extra money to size up in a more high-end brand to just have ill-fitting leggings and sports bras. Read more>>

NTI’s mission is 3-pronged. First, the vast majority of people simply don’t understand the impact of their food choices on their health outcomes, both immediate and long-term. i.e. 90% of cancer risk comes from diet and lifestyle choices. So we work to provide education about the necessity for healthy eating. Second, for those who know about the importance of nutrition and love learning about it, they often want to share what they know with others; however, they don’t yet have the in depth knowledge necessary to do so, and they may not know that they can forge a new career path in this field.
