We were lucky to catch up with Georgina Delreal recently and have shared our conversation below.
Georgina, appreciate you joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
Thank you so much for having me it is my pleasure. Absolutely, starting your own business is a risk within itself. As a new business owner betting on myself has been my biggest risk. I’ve invested so much in my makeup kit. Any makeup artist reading this can totally relate. Our kits are our money bags! I’ve also invested on my website glambygeo.com Invested on the bridal extravaganza and all the marketing that goes into that. All of these baby steps are steps is what I remind myself and risking on yourself is one of the scariest and most beautiful things you can do.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Hello beautiful my name is Georgina (aka Geo) and I’m so excited you are here! A little about me, I got married in 2018 and still consider myself a honeymooner. Married life is such a wild and exciting adventure. My hubby and I have one fur baby who we adore. I am a self taught makeup artist who continuously seeks ways to perfect my craft. Every chance I get, I attend makeup masterclasses, group classes and one on one makeup lessons from other artists. I specialize in soft glams and enhance my clients’ natural beauty. I am extremely passionate about what I do and can’t wait to get to know you.
Makeup has always given me the opportunity to feel and look my best. My mom did my makeup for the first time in my life on my 5th grade graduation, and I felt like the prettiest girl in the class. In middle school my mom would not let me wear makeup everyday because I looked older. I would secretly put eyeliner in the bathroom and take it off on the bus back home. In high school, I was allowed to wear makeup so I let my creativity flow and developed a natural passion for it. My friends and mom’s friends began to ask me to do their makeup for special events. At age 18 I had my very first wedding. I had a coworker who was looking for a makeup artist. I told her I would love to do her makeup and it made me feel incredible to help her feel her very best. It was then that I realized my natural talent and passion for makeup.
Glam by Geo provides luxury makeup and hair services that empower and enhance the natural beauty of my client. We offer makeup sessions for special events such as bridal, photoshoots, quinceañeras, maternity, graduation, prom and group makeup classes for private events.
What sets Glam by Geo apart from the rest is the ability to envision and understand what the client is looking for. We go above and beyond to make sure our client’s love their look by providing quality work. Glam by Geo offers skin prep for 1:1 bookings and skin consultations for my brides during their trial. We are also in the field of customer service so we are very personable and make sure our clients are comfortable during their makeup application.
I am most proud that I started something I’ve always dreamt of. My background is in sales so finding a solution for my client has always been my mentality. Glam by Geo provides clients the ability to look and feel their most confident self. I want my clients to know when they are sitting in my chair it is all about them; their vision is my number one focus. I want them to know we take pride in our work and want to make sure they love their look.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Word of mouth has been the best source of clientele for Glam by Geo. Starting a business is like having a baby in the sense that it too “takes a village.” My family, friends and husband have been extremely supportive of my dream and have recommended me to their friends. Also, thank God for social media! I’ve been able to post pictures and videos and expand my portfolio. I have joined multiple facebook groups in the San Antonio and surround areas which have been extremely helpful. Reviews are key to clients look your way. Bridal extravaganza’s have too been great for booking clients and networking with other vendors.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Glam by Geo is all about building lasting relationships. It is extremely important to follow up with a client and ask how they liked their look. This shows we are committed and we care. We are also emotionally invested in each client’s special events. Making sure we make our client’s feel like a queen the moment they sit in out chair is crucial. One thing is true, a person may not always remember what you said but they will ALWAYS remember how you made them feel.
