Quiera, appreciate you joining us today. What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?

Along with extending a helping hand when I’ve silently been in need the kindest thing that anyone has ever done for me would have to be telling me the truth even if it hurt. My grandparnts George and Loyse used to do this all of the time. I am not ashamed to say that I’m a perfectionist and at times it can get the best of me, But by keeping folk around that are honest enough to speak on what I don’t see is a blessing. Nowadays people are so afraid of not being liked or consumed by the thoughts of what others may think of them they keep truth to themselves. However, It is my belief that by being true to yourself and walking within your purpose you can’t help but to shine, break barriers and help others to discover that same light that is also within them.

Quiera, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I have worked in the cosmetics industry for several years and what I have found is that the average client would spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on color products, serums, perfumes etc. etc. but when asked about their body products it was always the same answer “oh I just grab whatever is at the grocery store”. This blew my mind. Your skin is the largest organ of the body and the things you apply topically are being absorbed into your bloodstream. I could preach about this subject matter for days on end, but it made more sense for me to provide an all-natural solution that would benefit the entire family. George and Loyse is all about one taking the time to care for self and by all means owning what that means to you. I believe that when you’re in a good space, everyone else around you will follow suit. George and Loyse was created to encourage a foundation that is built on self-love and community. This is my way of honoring my family and yours by providing natural alternatives that help to elevate your mood and promote healing.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?

Birthing a holistic line was never on my to do list. George and Loyse came to fruition by my heart’s desire in wanting to see others take care of themselves. Not just their skin but as a whole referring to their mind, body and spirit. I found myself listening to people complain about their energy and spiritual health to which I would respond with several ways for them to care for themselves and the importance of taking that time to honor thyself by incorporating small things into their daily rituals. I found that loving folk will do everything under the sun for everyone else yet when it came to self, they did nothing or allowed oneself to be content with the bare minimum and this didn’t sit right with me. So again, in my mind I could continue to preach about the importance of selfcare or I could provide an array of natural alternatives for one to actually do something about it. With all of that being said No I wouldn’t take anything from my journey, and I would still choose this route as I know that I am here to help, heal and love.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?

You have to remember that at the end of the day it’s not about the dollar amount. You have to know your “why” and walk within your purpose. Because the money will come and everything you need to succeed will be within your reach including clientele, new ideas, resources etc. etc. so, operate in the manner of which you would care for your own by intentionally doing things with a happy heart.
