We were lucky to catch up with Jessica Miller recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jessica , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope that my legacy will be a positive impact globally. With the knowledge that I will passed down, the love, and financially stability. I know my legacy will live forever because I have broken the generational curses and now building the generational wealth.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Peace, I am Jessica. I got introduced into the holistic field about five years ago when I experienced a acute kidney infection. This experience was definitely a wake up call to me. It was very embarrassing for me to be in my early 20’’s and being rushed to the hospital because of not valuing my health. Along with dealing with personal issues affected my self-esteem and caused me to believe a misconception that I was only beautiful with makeup, hair extensions, and exposure clothing. At this point, I knew I needed to change for the better, and surround myself with true happiness. I started researching natural alternatives for improving my kidney and skin health. Once I noticed improvements, my passion for holistic health skyrocketed. I started wanting to be on top of my health researching and listening to different well known herbalist like Dr Sebi, Dr Llaila Afrika , and Queen Afua. The hunger of becoming a herbalist grew even more so I decided that this path was my calling and wanted to help others that may be suffering in silence. I then started researching schools to further my education in herbalism. Out of all the herbalism programs, I felt drawn to Natural Choices Botanical School of Herbalism & Holistic health (Clarksville, Tn).
I took a leap of faith on May 7th, 2017 in starting my business. I was at a point where I was trying to find my true self, dealing with anxiety/depression after spending majority of my life living for others.
Growing up, I dealt with insecurities from having on-going acne and then having a hospital scare. I’ve noticed little to no results using common commercial products or chemical based products for my overall health led me to create Royalty By Roots. I did not know that my DIY intentions would turn to a dream come true.
I am proud to say that I cater to holistic skincare and more. Royalty By Roots LLC is a 100% All natural, handcrafted product line advocating a health conscious lifestyle. From skin, body, hair, and oral products. My goals as a professional is to help my community be more health conscious about what we are putting in our bodies and/or consuming. As a community, we lack important key factors on maintaining a holistic lifestyle. My mission is to guide my community to the natural form of healing and provide resources in balancing mental and physical health. I offer holistic wellness products and consultations for improving overall health through plant medicine.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building my audience on social media definitely took patience and dedication. When you have something you are passionate about it’s a priority that everyone knows. My mindset was if I don’t post about my business/services than bills will not be paid. The more I had that mindset the more clientele and networking opportunities I was able to create for myself. I realize that each day I wanted to always put my business a step closer in succeeding. I also focused on getting feedback/reviews from clients. Having reviews I would say was also another way on how I built my audience. I realize the more I posted about reviews the more people became curious or more prone to follow my page.
My advice to anyone building they so media presence is to be yourself, engage with your followers, show confidence in your business/service, don’t be afraid to share your story, be relatable, and also maintain consistency with posting. Maintaining consistency helps you build that relationship with your audience.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing clientele is word of mouth. Always remember that word of mouth is free advertising triggered by customer experiences and usually, something that goes beyond what expected. With this strategy, you never know who you will run into that will give you that lifetime opportunity or elevate your business to the next level.
