We were lucky to catch up with Jennie Bellinger recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennie, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I am building a legacy of love and light. I not only love my family and friends, but I also love my clients, my audience and those around me in business. I use my coaching business and my podcast to be a light in a dark and confusing world of direct sales. By loving on the people around me and helping to light the way, I am building a legacy of success for others which, in turn, means success for me.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Before I became a full time coach, I was coaching part time in a direct sales company while I was building my own successful direct sales business and organization. During that time, I earned nine incentive trips to locations around the world, multiple car bonuses, cash bonuses and other incentives. My team reached #1 in the world for Group Recruiting and #3 in the world for Group Sales. It was shortly after this that other leaders in the company asked me to train their teams, coach their team members and help them grow. These requests helped me to see that there was an under-served need in the direct sales industry for coaches to help others achieve their direct sales goals and dreams. This prompted me to take an intensive coaching certification course in early 2017, and I started Level Up Coaching, LLC in the spring of that year. I started with one on one private coaching services (which I still offer), and added group coaching programs in 2020. My most popular group coaching is the Business Builder Coaching program that is now available through my new brand, Badass Direct Sales Mastery.
My clients enjoy learning how to effectively and efficiently build relationships, grow sales organically and naturally, and build teams with other women (and men) who are also working on growing a business built on helping others.
I have found through clients that came to me through other coaches and trainers that what sets me apart from them is my process through which I truly get to know my clients, get to know their individual goals, dreams and vision, and then help coach them to achieving those rather than forcing them to follow a singular process. Each coaching session is custom to the people on the call, walking them step by step to accomplish what they set out to do.
In 2019, I launched my podcast, Badass Direct Sales Mastery and in 2020, began to operate my coaching business under that brand as well. I did this because I was starting to recognize that I prefer to work with clients who are willing to take calculated risks. If someone can’t even listen to a podcast with a dominatrix on the cover art, they are NOT a good fit for me and my coaching style. My best clients have come to me because they are ready to take a risk in hiring a coach because their goals and dreams matter that much to them. They want to invest in someone who is going to help them see that which is already within them to achieve and take them on an individual journey to their goals.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I know that two things have helped me to build my reputation within direct sales and network marketing: 1) my authenticity and 2) my podcast. By showing up as the person that I truly am, others connect to me because they trust me. I am an open book, sharing all kind of stories about me and my life, the good, the bad and the indifferent, which helps others to know that I am who I say that I am. By being open and transparent, I’ve had others who have told me this gave them permission to be themselves, “If she can be open about being a direct sales dominatrix, I can be me because that’s not as ‘out there!”
The podcast has also allowed me to share my message in the direct sales space, connect with those who are active in the industry and interview big names such as Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and Jordan Adler. Badass Direct Sales Mastery continues to grow every month. In August of 2020, the podcast was averaging 100 downloads a week. At the time of this interview, the show is averaging 500 downloads per week and is growing!

Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
I absolutely have a few different streams of income. Obviously, the coaching and training business are my two main sources of business revenue. The podcast is also monetized through episode sponsorships, advertising and I use a guest to client strategy with the show to talk with potential clients on the show and quite a few convert into being coaching or training clients. One of the more recent streams of income for my business is voice over work. Through my 150+ episodes, plus all the networking that I do with podcast hosts, I have been asked and paid to do voice overs for podcasts and now corporate training videos. It’s a fun way to make money and it uses my most powerful tool, my voice.
