Jerida , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

I launched my e-commerce coffee business Boss Lady Fuel Premium Coffee in the middle of the pandemic. I was drained mentally and starting to feel afraid to walk outside. I decided to focus my mind on creating and launching my coffee business. I’ve always wanted to become an entrepreneur and this was the perfect time to start. Launching my coffee business helped me to stay sane.

I am a senior executive in Corporate America, Mom-in-chief – mother of two teenage girls and four adult bonus children, wife , a caregiver to my 93 year old father and now a new entrepreneur. With all of these roles, I need to stay energized all day. I created this business to offer busy “boss” ladies a product that will keep them energized throughout the day.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I’m a coffee connoisseur and have enjoyed drinking coffee for over ten years now. I’m a busy boss lady who drink a cup of coffee every morning. I decided to start a coffee business so I can provide premium roasted coffee that taste great and keep boss ladies energized. So I teamed up with a local roasted in Tampa, Fl to roast the coffee beans to perfection. This truly sets my business apart from others because my coffee bean are roasted locally and the coffee beans are grind right before shipping to customers.

My coffee beans are from countries Honduras, Brazil, and the birthplace of coffee Ethiopia. I also offer a signature blend called Boss Lady Fuel Signature Lux Blend. I work with a local roaster in Tampa, Florida. My customers have all told me my coffee stands out amongst my competitors because they can drink my coffee all day without experiencing any stomach pains or cramping. Also, my coffee can be re-warmed multiple times and still taste great, while other coffee brands do not taste good when the coffee is re-warmed.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.

I keep in touch with my customers through email communication and social media. Its important for me to communicate with my customers and offer special pricing days for email subscribers. My business is mainly an e-commerce business but I also attend local vendor markets to meet my customers face to face and sell my products locally in the community. This helps me foster brand loyalty.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

I initially used my personal saving to start my coffee business. I was not familiar with business credit. I didn’t know much about how to start a business. After completing a business program called C.A.T.C.H I learned a lot about business operations, business financing, marketing, and pricing,
