We were lucky to catch up with Lauren Gayle recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lauren, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?

The idea behind Bombshell Dance Productions was inspired through my own personal journey. Dance and performance have always had a great, big part of my heart! It’s where I felt most confident and aligned with myself. I lost that part of me while going through life challenges and navigating through motherhood and it negatively impacted my self esteem and sense of identity. As I was working on finding my way back to myself, I realized that I yearned to be on the dance floor again but I couldn’t find a class that supported what I was looking for. I decided that if I couldn’t find it, I would create it myself!

My mission in developing Bombshell Dance was to provide an outlet for women to learn trendy, empowering dance routines in a supportive, judgement-free environment. A class that is professional but welcoming to all levels of dance and fitness. I wanted to share with women a glimpse into the experience and exhilaration of being a stage performer. To not only gain the countless physical benefits of dance but more importantly, the emotional/mental benefits.

Lauren, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I’m a single mother of three who has a dance background that includes training and performing with top choreographers and dance companies in Canada and the United States. My company Bombshell Dance Productions was created after I took a long time off from the dance world, as I navigated through motherhood and personal hardship. I understand what it’s like to lose yourself through the challenges of life and motherhood. To allow your self doubts to take over and make all the decisions. I’ve worked really hard and intentionally to rebuild my own confidence and my mission is to help women feel less alone and stay well connected to their worth. To continue dancing through the ups and downs of life!

I offer weekly dance classes that are open to all levels of dance and fitness. Each class, we explore a different feminine ( but always Bombshell sexy :) vibe through my music video/live performance inspired dance choreography. The atmosphere of class feels like a fun ladies night out!

The inspiring and supportive energy that we share together in studio extends well beyond class and I think that’s my favorite part! I love to witness the beautiful friendships that have developed through sharing in this special support system.

I choreograph and provide artistic direction for special events and various different projects. I work with many bridal parties and my speciality is choreographing surprise wedding performances. I love when brides feel like confident superstars on their special day!

Helping women embrace their inner Bombshell – that fierce, powerful, unstoppable version of themselves, through my work is a dream come true!

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

The pandemic was a difficult time for all and I wanted to do whatever I could, to provide my community with a healthy outlet to rely on for both physical and emotional release and expression. I paused our studio classes and taught free Bombshell classes at an outdoor space for about a year and half. Although we had to deal with outdoor elements, that time turned into a really beautiful, bonding experience for our community and we gained many new members in the process. That experience encouraged me to be more flexible and innovative with my business. I realized that a lot of good can come from trying times if you lean in and are willing to make adjustments!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My mission is to help empower women to always make room for the things that light them up. To encourage my community to make time for their self care and know that they are worthy and capable of taking up space. Of dancing full out. Of creating a life they love. I want women to know that regardless of the differences in our journeys, we share so much of the same challenges, self doubts and insecurities and that together, we can rise above it all and create happy, fulfilling lives for ourselves.
