Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to DJ OB7. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

DJ, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

The most meaningful project I’ve been involved with is actually the world tour I’m currently on with Conor Maynard and Anth Melo! Being a DJ/Producer for so many years, grinding out blood, sweat and tears in hope to be able to travel to the world for something you’ve worked so hard to perfect is nothing short of a dream come true. I’m a strong believer in fate and things all have perfect timing so when I got the call that I was requested to join the tour as the official DJ I knew my time was now!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is DJ OB7. I’m an open format DJ from the beautiful city of Tampa, FL! I’ve been in the industry for the last 10 years. I’ve done everything from played at some of the biggest clubs in the US, held residencies at all your favorite spots here in Tampa and been on tour with multiple A list celebrities. My most recent accomplishment is a world tour I just completed with Conor Maynard and Anth Melo. We finished a 2 month run between the United States, Canada, Europe and the UK. I believe the one thing that sets me apart from other DJs is my ambition. many times during my career I was told I should give up and start being more realistic about my goals and dreams but I didn’t listen, I know I had a talent and a gift to share with the world and now it’s coming to fruition!

How did you build your audience on social media?

Social media is such a HUGE part of who you are as an artist and growing your brand. I remember in the early days of me starting to build my social media presence, I would go to parties and briefly introduce myself, have a small convo and shortly after I pull out my phone to ask for a follow on instagram etc. You’ll be surprised how well that works! After a while once people see how many followers your have, they are more prone to stay following or go through your page because they see everyone else doing it. It’s all a numbers game!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is being able to express yourself and create from within. There’s nothing more satisfying than a new remix you just put blood, sweat and tears into that everyone is playing or jamming out to. Same goes for DJ sets! That’s my time to mix and master my vision and leave it all on the dance floor!
