We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kim Cook a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Kim, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.

My defining moment occured this year of 2022. I realized and stepped into my purpose, my soul mission you could say as a healer. And combining my knowledge of plant life and gardening, along with my mission…Plant Ther’py was birthed. A company focused on healing people through plants! “Plants Healing People” is our motto. Anything that is alive has healing properties and for me plants and nature are the best modality that could be used. This defining moment has catapulted me in a space and arena to touch many lives that are struggling with difficulties in this time of the world that has seen so much devastation and tragedies that many aren’t equipped to deal with them on their own. I am happy to begin this journey as a Healing Facilitator/Administrator!

Kim, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am Kim “Golden Ma’at Dawn”, owner and CEO of Plant Ther’py LLC. A company that is driven to see people heal through plants. “Plants Healing People” is our motto! With the recent events that have occured over the last few years, many people have lost touch with nature. I believe in the term “biophillia” which is humans innate connection with nature. You could call me a biophilliac! I love nature and nature nurtures me. So, I decided to combine my love and knowledge of plant life and gardening along with my mission and purpose as a healer to heal people of traumas, depression and anxieties through the healing properties of plants. Plant Ther’py LLC offers a variety of plant based products, such as; Aloe Vera Gel for skin, Aloe/Flaxseed Hair Gel, numerous tea blends that aid issues such as: diabetes, respiratory issues and menstrual/menopausal issues. Along with services, like; plant meditation, let’s quiet the mind, sit with a beautiful indoor plant, plant based essential oils and meditate to begin the process of coping with and alleviating stress and trauma. Also offering, succulent garden classes, learning how to build your own raised bed and nature walks. Something as simple as taking a walk in nature can raise your vibrations and begin to put you on the path to healing. I have also published a book that is now on Amazon, titled “Seed To Harvest Gardening Workbook” an easy to follow, instructional, activity based workbook that will guide any skill level through growing your favorite fruits and vegetables!

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?

I definitely would! I appreciate my journey, beginning my first business All Living Things LLC in 2017 I began learning so many things about plant life and plant care. The goal then was also to introduce my community to the healing properties of plants. This was through air flow and ambience that plants provided. Not knowing that I would venture into the healing modalities of plant therapy. My love and compassion that I have for my community during our toughest times; mentally, physically and socially have driven me here and I would not change it for anything!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

When I was guided to change my business model in the Summer of 2022, I had no idea what awaited me. Most times life’s lessons come to make you stronger and I have recieved my share of lessons. Prompted to resign from a job that I felt didn’t serve me to drive for Uber to make ends meet while I built my business seemed like a decent plan until that fell through and continued to fall through, this is where the lessons began. I felt that my soul was easing me and guiding me to stand on my own regardless of how hard things got. With no income and a brand new business, I faced eviction from my home and forced to move into an undesirable living situation, I continue to push forward with my mission. Showing myself that come hell or high water I am here to serve my soul’s mission and my community with my abilities to heal and heal we shall!!
