We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Essynce Moore. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Essynce below.
Essynce, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Crazy stuff happening is almost as certain as death and taxes – it’s technically “unexpected” but something unexpected happening is to be expected and so can you share a crazy story with our readers?
I think one of the craziest stories I’ve experienced while being an entrepreneur is how it all started. I was 10 years old, sitting in the car with my mom when she asked me if I wanted to start my own business. At that point I’d been drawing and designing clothes in my sketchbooks for about four years. I loved and continue to love anything and everything that allows me to express myself; fashion, writing, acting, etc. When my mother took notice of that and asked me if I wanted to be an entrepreneur I said yes and it’s funny to think a decision I made when I was only 10 years old would ultimately change my life forever.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Essynce. I am 20 years old and I have been an entrepreneur for literally half of my life. You see, when I was 10 my mother took notice of my love for writing and fashion design. This ultimately lead to her asking me if I wanted to turn my passion into a business and I said yes. Since then, I am now a fashion designer, author, actress, and motivational speaker. I’ve been In New York and Atlanta Fashion Week. I wrote three books (6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Middle School Chronicles) by the time I was 13 years old, that eventually would become mandatory readings in schools. I’ve made many TV debuts on programs like Fox News, BET, PBS, etc. Lastly, I’ve had many speaking engagements around the world to encourage self love, entrepreneurship, and more. My ability to inspire others through my words, both written and spoken, are some of my proudest accomplishments.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I am an adamant reader and I adore learning. Some books that have significantly impacted my management and entrepreneurial thinking would be Think Like A Monk by Jay Shetty and The Courage to be Disliked by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga. These books, among many others I’ve read, focus on the habitat in which ideas are born; the mind. How you think is key. Last but certainly not least, 6th, 7th, and 8th Middle School Chronicles written by Essynce Moore (hey that’s me). These books taught me a lot about myself and life through the lens of our generation today.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I cannot stress it enough, when it comes to growth and development within any aspect of a business consistency is certainly key. Your purpose finds you, pursue it and you shall achieve it but you must remain consistent.
