Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Taviana Nolley . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Taviana , appreciate you joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Opening my physical store was the biggest risk I’ve taken so far in my career. I was online for 2 years before opening my store. My sales were stagnant online and I needed a change. I wanted to interact with my customers personally. I wanted to give them the “Star Quality” experience. I wanted to bring back great customer service. Every time I walk in a store and I’m not greeted I feel as if I’m not valued. I wanted my customers to know how valued they are to me. I vowed to myself that if I give them “Star Quality” customer service then they will always return no matter the drive or price because they wouldn’t get that experience anywhere else. I was nervous it took me almost two month to get my store right for my grand opening. October 23rd was my grand opening . I made the lost money I’ve ever made in one day from my boutique. That day changed my mindset forever. I now have reached a new goal and to think I almost talked myself out of signing my lease because I was scared that I wouldn’t make the sales so I could afford the space. I trusted God and took the risk. I’m so happy I took that risk. I’ve met some wonderful people and had my very own Fashion Show that would have never had the turn out that it did if I did not get that location. With that being said I want to encourage you all to take that Risk and have Faith! Every little thing will alright!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Taviana. I have two beautiful children named Noah and Nala. I always wanted to be a high fashion runway model. I used to go to auditions and they told me I could walk but I’m too short. I always told myself I will create my own lane and model for myself because I was told to go into print modeling. In 2018 I broke my big toe and I had four plates and screws put in. I really thought my modeling career was over. I was told I would never walk in heels again. I was devastated. I couldn’t go back to work, so I got creative. I started selling hair that didn’t work out so well because I’m not a weave person. I’m more of a braids girl. I sat and meditated. I thought about what would I enjoy doing even when times get hard. Immediately I knew I was meant to open a boutique. I remember like it was yesterday. I ordered three different pieces, a top, pants and a dress. I sold those and I ordered more. That’s how I started. I was in my medical boot taking pictures in my front yard. I didn’t let anything or anyone stop me. After a year and surgery I was able to walk in regular shoes again. That was step one. I went to therapy for 3 months straight and I was able to put a 3inch heel on. Nobody can tell me that miracles don’t happen. I always tell people that tragedy is what got me here today. I stayed consistent and never gave up even on the days I didn’t make one sale. Being helpless to a certain degree taught me discipline, strength and that everything happens for a reason.
I solves problems for women who wants to look Chic without breaking their pockets and sacrificing Quality of their clothing.
I believe my customer service and my genuine care for my customers sets me apart from other boutiques. I genuinely care about them and listen to their needs and wants. When I first started out I was shopping for my and not for my target audience. They expressed that in my dms, comments and I listened changed up a bit and we’ve been good every since.
I am most most of my 1st Fashion Show and for my staying consistent even throughout tough times. I actually inspired others to follow their dreams and never give up on their childhood dream because I didn’t. Stay Inspired, Stay Prayed Up , Stay Consistent and God will take care of everything else. If I can do it so can you!
