We recently connected with Brianna, Ciara and Yvonne and have shared our conversation below.
Brianna, Ciara and Yvonne , appreciate you joining us today. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
Starting a new business is not an easy feat, especially when you have to build a whole new clientele. So as a way to show our appreciation towards our clients, we always try to give back as much as we can. Whether it be through something as small as hosting multiple giveaways to something like creating a loyalty program for them, we always strive to show our appreciation. Both through actions and words. Not only do we like to tell them we appreciate them, we also want them to feel appreciated. We wouldn’t be where we were if they never took a chance on us, a small family owned business. One day, after a small meeting between the three CEO’s, we decided to include inspirational quotes in our orders. You never truly know what someone is going through and sometimes the smallest gestures can mean the world to someone. We pick these quotes at random and we hope that these messages resonate with whoever receives them, sort of like fate. The goal was to inspire someone, no matter how small it may seem. Ever since we started doing that, we have received a lot of positive feedback from our customers stating how much they appreciated it. Which is all we really want with these cards. We also try to post inspirational quotes online on our social media accounts, because all of our customers deserve to feel appreciated and inspired. We hope we can make a difference, even if it’s a small one.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Our mom, one of the CEO’S of Heavenly Aroma, is quite active within the beauty community. One day she asked if we wanted to join her on this business venture and we both agreed pretty easily, it sounded like fun and up to this point it has been. Starting this project has been a great bonding experience where we get to learn so many things, not just about entrepreneurship but also about each other. At first, we started off making affordable vegan and cruelty free lip gloss. However, as time went on, we expanded our business to include our ever popular candles as well as soy melts, among other things. An issue we faced as we started this business was doing a lot of research to make sure things would meet not only our standards, but also our customers standards. We started our business in the midst of the Pandemic so we understood that we had to be extra cautious with our sanitary practices. So we took extra precautions to make sure our products were safe for our consumers to use and we still practice those safety precautions to this day. Along with this, we also looked into the best shipping methods so our products could arrive to their recipient safely. Unfortunately, we have had issues in the past where our products have arrived in less than ideal conditions. So of course, we did our best to rectify the issue and we took this as a learning experience. Despite how much research you do, sometimes mistakes happen and there are miscalculations. Just recently, someone ordered melts through us and they arrived melted. After resolving the issue, we took it upon ourselves to do extra research into our packaging to make sure this never happens again. We want our customers to be able to enjoy their products as soon as they receive it. Our main goal is to offer great products at an affordable price. Nobody should have to break the bank to have access to something like vegan makeup or soy candles. We will do our best to make sure that we never lose sight of this goal, which is always to provide comfort at a great price.
Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
When we first got started, we honestly didn’t know what we were doing for the most part. We went into this business venture blind — so to speak. Everything we created, we had to do a lot of research on. A lot of time finding the right products and lots of trial and error. There have been many times where we created products that were practically defective so we had to start from scratch and go back to the drawing board. However, despite all this, we were able to find methods that work for us that meet our standards that we have set for ourselves. We never want to release products that are only decent, we take pride in all of our products and we hope that they meet everyone’s expectations. We’re never going to stop researching though, there’s always something new to discover and if there’s an even better way to produce quality products, we will continue to look for it. Settling for just satisfactory is not, and will never be, what we do and we hope that’s evident in the products we release.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
We try our best to be active on our social media platforms. We’re constantly asking questions, asking for our customers opinions. Our goal is to produce products our consumers will love and what better way than by asking them directly? Occasionally, we ask what products they would be interested in seeing from us. In fact, it was our customers who recommended we release a maple pecan scented candle which turned out to be one of our best sellers to this day! Our customers ideas and feedback is very important to us. We’re constantly asking about what they think and we will continue to do so. Not only that, we also try to keep in touch with them. Send out little motivational messages to get them through the day and checking to see when their birthday is. In fact, we’re currently in the works of creating something special for our followers and customers who celebrate their birthday with us. So stay tuned for that!
