We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Estella Kirk a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Estella , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I knew I wanted to pursue music as a career for the first time when I was twelve years old. I started taking singing lessons, guitar lessons, stage presence, and learning about songwriting, this opened my mind to different genres of music and found I loved pop-christian. After a few years of taking classes and building my skills I began writing and recording originals, I Traveled to San Diego California, where I was writing and recording almost every day, soon after I released my first EP called “Bright side” I fell in love with music because I was able to relate to anyone through music, and create something that means so much to me and hopefully other people as well.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a pop christian artist, I started singing when I was just seven years old taking local singing lessons where I live and playing guitar with my grandpa. When I realized I had such a passion for music I began connecting with people in the industry and learning everything I could from the business side to the actual creating side, music has always been an outlet for me no matter if I’m listening to other artist sing or its me creating something. One of my favorite things about music is how we can communicate through melodies and rhythmic patterns, We don’t always have to communicate through words.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
.The most rewarding thing is creating songs that people relate to and feel a connection to, its hard to write a song with a detailed story line while making sure it entails the right emotions lyrics etc. Have you ever listened to a song and it describe every thing you are going through? it makes you feel something and that’s what I try to do in every song I write. I also love leading people closer to God and music is the best way I can do that!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Before doing christian pop music my goals were all oriented around me and other people, but now its about sharing Gods word and giving people hope, Inspiring my generation to stand up for what they believe in and who they are. Of course I have lots of goals like learning a new guitar riff or releasing a new EP this year….( which is coming soon) but if what im doing isn’t glorifying him and inspiring people what is the purpose?
