We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jennifer Eichelberger . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jennifer below.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
This is a hard one, because I have worked on quite a few meaningful projects, however I will narrow it down to the publication of my first book “Answering the Call, Discovering Your Purpose.” When I was in college my roommate and I would joke about writing a book…but twenty years later that joke became a reality. In that book I shared steps on how one can discover their purpose, which is something that many people long to do…discover their purpose.
Jennifer, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For this one I will share how I got into television production. It goes all the way back to when I was a child; I would take a brush and pretend I was talking into a micophone. Eventually my father purchased a tape recorder for me and I would tape my voice and play it back until I got the sound I wanted. My mother would often say you will be on television one day. But I didn’t see that in myself because at the time there were not many if any people that look like me on television. That is why it is so important to share our stories and mentor others. Anyway I didn’t pursue the career at that time but eventually I did. After college I starrted working at an organization and my natural talent for public relations/communications begin to shine. Several managers that I worked with started seeing that too. I was later approached by the director of the department and he expressed that with training etc that I would be good in this field. I went back to school and study public relations in continuing education program and eventually found my way into a television studio.
Telelvsion production is hard but rewarding work! I absolutely love it plus I have the opportunity to meet so many people from around the world.
Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
My suggestion is for everyone in business, music, ministry or whatever field is to know your why. Take time to create a mission statement and vision statement. This will help keep you focused for when you have challening time.
A mission statement is a concise explanation of your (business) reason for existence. It describes the business purpose and its overall intention.
A vision statement is a business declaration of its mid-term and long-term goals, stating what they want to become in the future. This statement should include your one year goal, five year goal, ten year goal and so on.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Being in television production it was easy to buld a following! However, I would suggest post positive images, and affirmations etc on your platform. Avoid controversal issues. Ask yourself question before you post such as will this hurt someone, will it hurt or help me. Post daily, find. out what your followers like and go from there. Have live post from time to time and don’t but your personal business on line and please don’t share all of your information and content.
