We recently connected with Kiro Ace and have shared our conversation below.
Kiro, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
Three things my parents taught me that have served me in life. First would have to be they loved me, next was they never lied to me and lastly be self reliant. Since I was loved and accepted by my parent, I learned those two traits and use them every day. I work on staying in a loving state of being all the time. Especially when experiencing difficult situations. I’ve been cheated on by lovers, ripped off by partners and not paid by clients. I have found that by staying in a loving frame of mind helps me resolve situation quickly because I’m working on learning and understanding why things happen, instead of wasting time blaming, taking things personally, seeking revenge and other non-product thoughts and actions. My life is full of love because I’m full of love!
While growing up my parents told me the truth about life and accepted choices I made without judging me. This was amazing for two reasons, I never learned how to lie because it wasn’t necessary and I learned to to speak my truth without worry of judgement. Having truthful and open minded relationships has made my life deep and connected to the people i share it with. As well as an example to those I interact with struggling by using other approaches. By being truthful with the people around me, they are here because they want to, not because I manipulate them.
My life continues to get easier and easier because I take full responsibility for everything I experience. By not leaning on others for help is more challenging at the start but pays off big in time. I’ve learned how we pay for our choices. Everything is teaching us what we don’t know. The first time, we trip over the root in the path. Maybe we trip the second time on the same path. But hopefully the third time we see it before we trip and just like that we never trip on it again. By fully taking responsibility for our thoughts and actions in life we take back our strength. From being controlled by other people’s thoughts and actions. This helps tremendously to stay in a loving state of being.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
From a young age I was always creating something. Forts, games, artwork, scenarios to experience. In art school they explained to us how artist see the world differently than most people. How most people see an apple and how artist see all that makes up the apple. The details, spots on the skin, the shades of reds, the shininess, the texture, etc. For the first time I started to realize how we each experience life differently from one other. How some of us it is full of wonder and immense beauty. Even seeing the beauty in the ugly, gross and disturbing. It is all connected, one, each being itself contributing to the whole. All having equal value. With this understanding and imagination I excelled in design, art and branding. Using lights and darks to create movement, compositions, conflict within the viewers. How to tell a story, taking the viewer on a journey, evoking feelings and memories visually. I offer my clients a holistic design approach. Seeing all the parts that make up the apple.
A client comes to me, I need a logo for the business I’m starting. I start asking questions. What kind of company is it? What message, idea, feeling do you want your logo to convey? If your brand was a person what is their personally like? Where do you seeing your brand in a year? 3 years? 5years? The client is like whoa, I never thought about it. Why do you need all this? I just need a logo. I process in explaining how a picture can say 1000 words. How everything I create for them is linked together to tell there story, building their brand identity, creating brand loyalty and equipping them to reach their 5 year goal. They are always blown away. From start to finish. The quality and depth of the work. How easy and effortless it was working with me. We usually end up becoming friends.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
The golden rule has never failed me! Treat others as you want to be treated. With this being said you have to first love and accept yourself. This way you will know how to treat the people around you. No one likes to be talked down to, yelled at or called out for something they don’t know.
It’s always better to think before you speak. Figure out a way of communicating with people around you in a positive helpful way. By rising up the people around instead of knocking them down. You build re pore with them. Getting to the top is easier working together instead of against one another. Many hands makes lifting easy.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
As a male, it’s the ability of giving birth to something. To help balance masculine/feminine energies within myself. Male energy tends to be linear, destroying, not flexible, focused. The creative process helps me express my feminine energies of curvy, creating, flexibility and openness. Imagining into existence is my favorite saying. Being able to bring beauty into the world!
