Deepika, appreciate you joining us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?

Most organization have put gathering as a team on hold in the last 2 years. For 2022, we’re seeing more businesses that want to hold conferences, celebrations, team building events and more! Including hybrid events that combine virtual and in-person options. 73% of event marketers say they expect hybrid events to be more prevalent than ever. In 2022, expect hybrid events to:
Provide a seamless integration of technology to allow participation between in-person audiences and virtual audiences.
Create virtual assets that can be viewed on-demand, thereby increasing their reach.
Craft shared and unique experience for in-person and virtual attendees.
Create additional exhibitor and sponsorship opportunities.

Deepika, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Deepika Bhalla is the Founder and CEO of the award-winning Chateau Luxe Event Center in Phoenix, AZ. She grew up in India where she earned her degree as a Doctor in General Medicine before moving to the United States in 1988. Looking for warmer weather and a place to raise children, Deepika moved to Phoenix, AZ with her Husband in 1994, and shortly thereafter opened their own Medical Practice which is still thriving today.

After raising their two children, Deepika attended an event at a stunning upscale venue in Chicago, which she vividly remembers as being the most beautiful event she’d ever been to. She has always loved to entertain and has been known for hosting lavish parties that rival the finest soirees anywhere. Upon returning home, she thought often about this venue and wished that Phoenix had an event venue like this. Over the next few years, Deepika’s thought developed into a dream of opening her own event venue, perhaps even more stunning than the one which inspired her all those years back.

With a knack for design and color, and a vision that has been taking shape for years, Deepika purchased land in North Phoenix, contacted an architect and builder, and began embarking upon her dream of creating an event space like no other before. In 2015, her dream became a reality when she opened the doors to her venue, which she aptly named Chateau Luxe Event Center! Throughout the process Deepika never waived on her commitment or standards to bring the very best of everything Chateau Luxe.
Today, Chateau Luxe stays true to its name by bringing a modern ode to decadence and luxury to its clients from the minute they pull up to the private circular drive nestled between mountain and city views in Phoenix. The custom-designed Chandeliers, lush fabrics, terrazzo tile, opulent furnishings add luxury to every turn.
The versatile indoor and outdoor spaces of Chateau Luxe which can hold up to 2,000 people combined with an award-winning Culinary Team makes it perfect for corporate events, fundraising galas, cocktail parties and ceremonies, receptions, intimate dinners, fashion shows, or any other type of event one can dream up!

Everyone that knows Deepika has the same wonderful things to say, she is kind, compassionate and gets involved with every event like it were her own. When asked what she could not live without her answer comes easily, she is passionate about family, friends, elegance, and always doing the right thing! Deepika says her success comes from surrounding herself with good and like-minded people, being kind to everyone, and having integrity. Her advice to anyone would be to follow your dreams; you have one life to live, live it to the fullest!

Has your business ever had a near-death moment? Would you mind sharing the story?

When the pandemic started and nearly every business was affected, the event industry as a whole was at a standstill. We were battered with cancellations, postponements, and many, many refunds. On top of that we had no new bookings. As a privately owned business, this was devastating in so many ways including financially. Having a staff of nearly 20 employees who count on me for their livelihood, I must tell you this was one of the hardest times in my life. I went home and thought about all of my staff, their children, their families…and I decided in that moment that I was going to continue paying them their full salaries for as long as I could. I used savings and loans, and we made it through. Today, I couldn’t be happier with how Chateau Luxe is thriving and I know that the decision I made to keep my staff was the best decision. I learned that if you take great care of your staff, they will take great care of you. And I am very proud that the clients of Chateau Luxe get the very best team in the world to take great care of them.
