We were lucky to catch up with Ms Wy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ms, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My mother and my grandmother (along with the help of other family members? raised me. From the moment I could understand words I was always told to be independent and to “do what you need to do for you.” There was never a goal that I couldn’t reach and obstacles were only put in place to make one stronger.
My mothers support played a huge factor in not only me excelling in my career but the person I am today. “You want to do it. do it. and do it right!” You can’t figure out how to do it, ask. And then get it down” She was always to the point. Nice & simple.
“GET IT DONE WYNOBE.” On the days I’m feeling lazy and motivated those are the words I hear in the back of my head.
Having a support system or a team who believes in you and the things you can do is incredibly important . I don’t care what anyone says NOTHING gets done without a team; without support.
Along my journey my parents so spoke words to me that I use daily even when I don’t even notice.
Help others.
Show up for people.
You never know who’s watching cause’ there’s ALWAYS someone watching.
Be on time (this one still needs a lil work lol)
Finish what you start!
I can list a million things but I’m not finna be here all day lol
Ms, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am going to leave my bio here and then dig a lil deeper.
Creative director, choreographer, actor, dancer, movement coach, image consultant, teacher, humanitarian, part time comedian, renaissance woman are just a few words to explain who Ms. Wy is.
Wynobe “Ms. Wy” McClam was born and raised
Brooklyn, New York. She grew up with dreams of being
impactful and inspirational. Her professional career
started when joining NYC’s top dance group (Gen X/
BRICKHOUSE NYC). A strongwork ethic and a vivacious
energy has earned her countless opportunities to
showcase her work in the most authentic ways. Her
work and her art fully reflects the “Around The Way Girl”
aura. Ms. Wy has danced and choreographed for some
of the top names and brands such as Nike, Busta
Rhymes, Swarvoski, Lizzo, 50 Cent, Kranium, New Era, Footlocker and plenty
more. She loves and dedicates her time to children by
teaching in the inner city public schools. Ms. Wy will
continue to impact the world one step at a time.
Alright so boom. I was always a person who lite up a room. Whether it was dancing, making jokes, or being social my energy is always felt upon arrival. I joined a program called 1city in my preteen-teenage years directed by the amazing Dr. Leisa Herra. I was apart of the dance and step team. We made our own dances and performances. Just some neighborhood kids moving like the big shots lol .1 City is the reason I was able to perform at Madison Square Garden for the first time.
But more than dancing and step Doc (her nickname) made sure that when we left her program we left as better people.
We had weekly meetings, and if you were late you OWED, so make sure if you were late you had the dollars to match.
She taught us how to shake someone’s hand and not break eye contact. Come out the house presentable at all times and NEVER forget you only have ONE time to meet someone for the first time, This program molded me to be free thinker, a business woman, a team player, a leader and I’m forever grateful.
Later on in life I stumbled upon Kelly Peters owner of BRICKHOUSE NYC and the rest is history.
The WyNot Brand
My Name is Wynobe, the world calls me Ms. Wy. And the slogan is WyNot.

Once You Find Your Wy It’ll All Make Sense. ☺️
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I M P A C T
“But have you ever thought about your impact?”- J Cole
Are you moving the people around you?
I dont just do what I do for me. I do It for the little ones looking up to me. I do it for the people who has spent countless hours pouring into me. I do it for the people to who needs it.
I remember one day a follower of mine wrote me telling me that my work and my post has changed a lot of her bad days into good ones. And this is someone who I’ve never met. I honestly may not have recognized her while walking in the street, but to know that my work, my passion, just me as a person is enough to make a person smile is the most rewarding feeling ever.
Kids are my life. They love me and I love them. I have so much patience for them. They are sponges and extremely creative but a lot of the times their passions and creativity gets pushed to the side; especially where I’m from. I make it my job to pull that out of them. Who are you today and who could you possibly be tomorrow if you allowed your creativity to take over? You teach a person to that from young they’ll hold on to that forever,
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Im going to keep this short and to the point, R E S P E C T !
At some point society needs to understand that 98% of the things they love and indulge themselves with, comes from the creative world. Music, Fashion, Food, Cinema and the list goes on,
Creatives get treated like the prepackaged salad blend folks buy and leave in the fridge until it goes bad. A lot of the times over looked, under paid, and THE LAST TO BE PAID. It’s time for that to change!
