Brett D., appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

It started with a big breakdown moment, I caused a major financial upheaval in my life, this caused a domino effect.

My wife who was pregnant at the time left me and I had to start from scratch, whilst paying back the debt and helping my now ex wife be a stay at home Mum for the first few years of my sons life (my choice)

In the 4th year, I finally had a proper breakthrough and that transported me to healing myself, becoming a mindset coach with the late great, Bob Proctor and then more recently, going from Superman as the Hero of my journey to becoming the guide as The Success Alchemist

Brett D., love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Going from being the student, to head affiliate for my coach and then the coach myself via Bob Proctor (himself), I decided early on that rather than just being a Bob disciple (which I had been for 13 years prior to having my breakthrough) I would start moulding my own model of success. This wasn’t an easy decision, as Bob definitely woke me up, which was courtesy of a Paradigm Shift event recording with Bob yelling some words which had my crying tears of joy, knowing I was never going to repeat my success sabotaging cycle again (and in 4 years I haven’t, only kept growing)

My business this year went from solopreneur to having a CEO and a small team who have been supporting some of our clients to achieve their version of success and ultimately freedom.

Our key difference is we genuinely focus on high level support, we truly focus on ensuring each individual knows what they’re aiming for and we will do everything in our power to help them achieve and receive the outcomes they desire.

The aim for our business ‘Super-Charged Freedom’ is to help 97-99% of our people achieve their dreams, rather than telling people to focus on becoming part of the Elite top 1-3%. We want to build inclusion, not exclusivity.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

I remember in 2020 when COVID hit, I was only 9 months into running my business and like many, fearful of having to start again, do something different. However, rather than simply giving up, I decided business coaching may give me the ability to do both, so I looked at joining another company. This company had some conflicting information that made me concerned their focus was on manipulation to get the business, when questioned, I was told no.

However, on the day my first payment was to go through, not the day after, the owner sent me an email basically abusing me for not paying and stating that all of us Bob Proctor coaches were the same, never following through on their promises to pay and that I shouldn’t bother replying.

I broke into cheer and absolute joy. As I had done nothing wrong, yet this man showed his true colours and confirming to me to stay the course with the work I loved and not long after I crafted an idea that I would continue cultivating in the form of small group mastermind coaching which I called ‘Freedom Formula for Success’ and for the next couple of years as I evolved from Bob’s programs to my own, it was a massive hit and helped many of my clients achieve incredible outcomes.

Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?

This is not a story I have ever shared publicly and only a few know of the basic premise to it. And I’m only sharing this to prove to anyone that if you stand by your truth (and have been truthful), things will eventually work in your favour, if you have faith and trust the universe has your back.

One of my new clients joined me after hearing about the success I had with a few clients winning awards such as an Emmy, Hollywood Music in Media, Rookie of the Year, MVP etc and also wanted to experience some of this success for himself. He had been an avid vision board advocate and had some small wins, but as he was in a wheelchair from an accident a few years earlier, had the goal to walk and get in stage as a speaker.

I helped him manifest the money to invest in my program (actually double and even took a mini holiday before starting), even when he said I don’t think it’s possible, he was over the moon. Yet 6 weeks in, he asked for his money back, stating he was thinking of leaving home and wanted some rent money. We had a good conversation, I offered him a way to generate some money with me, just like I did with my coach and he agreed, another 2 weeks in, he asked again, we agreed he was simply fighting his paradigm and you guessed it, another 2 weeks in, he demanded a refund.

I refused and explained our policy and stated I was always going to support him and he would be welcome to leave, but there were no ‘change of mind’ refunds, as we were well and truly doing the work and I was doing way more on my side the most coaches would offer (my choice) and he threatened legal action.

To be honest. Even though I was in the right, I panicked a bit, as regardless, I knew he would use his disability which he was trying to change as his secret weapon to win. So I caved. We agreed I would pay in instalments, as cash flow was not flush at that time. After the first instalment had been paid, he asked me to stop paying him and explained some friends had been using him for money to pay for their band to grow and tour and they had dumped him when he couldn’t find enough money quickly enough to support them.

He was embarrassed and apologetic and that’s where our journey ended, as he simply lost his enthusiasm to work with me after what had occurred. I respected that, wished him well and it showed me when we let go, even when we know we are right, things work themselves out.
