We recently connected with Amber Lovelle and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber, thanks for joining us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
Some of the biggest trends that I see are luxury curated picnics which is one of the things I specialize in. It’s more than just your typical soiree. It’s all about the aesthetics.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I started my company over 10 years ago. Back then, my specialty was beach dinners and at home chef services. I started this company because at the time I created and ran a magazine all on my own that drained my energy, it wasn’t my passion. I wanted to do something that would make my mom proud. So when I decided to step down from my CEO position, I knew what my next venture would be. And it’s been amazing since. I’ve been able to meet and network with some great people and create everlasting memories.
Today, I create romantic date nights, hotel room surprise setups, engagements, catering, luxury picnics and more. My business is based around love and romance while we cater to our clients needs. Whether it be at the park, beach, hotel or simply in the comfort of your own home, Edible Romance specializes in romance takeovers.
I think what sets us apart from other companies that offer the same services as Edible Romance is our stellar customer service, budget friendly date night packages and ultimately the passion behind it all. This is something that I truly enjoy doing and it’s such a rewarding career to see the looks on your customers faces. It’s an amazing feeling.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
When I first started out in this industry, I wasn’t sure what to charge. I used to charge less than $200 for a beach dinner date night that would take hours for me to cook an entire feast, hours for me to setup the date and clean up afterwards. I always wanted my pricing to be fair to the clients but at the same time I was not being fair to myself. I basically used to work for free, making a very little profit because I had no idea about pricing. It took a family member to point that flaw out to me. He told me that my work was worth more, I had a great thing going and not to ever short myself. That was a tough cookie to swallow but my cousin was absolutely right. I had to stop being afraid of failing and shoot for the stars.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Surprisingly, social media. I used to be intimidated by it at first but then I understood the process. You can’t depend on word of mouth alone, you have to market and get yourself out there so others will notice you as well. From posting ads, doing giveaways, mini commercials, you have to set yourself up for success. It takes discipline, courage and consistency.
