We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jennifer Wax a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jennifer thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?
I love my clients, and I love showing them how much they mean to me. After each client joins the J L Glamour family, I send out a gift box of either sweets or relaxing spa items. I learned that when I pamper my brides and show them that I value them, it helps get them more comfortable with me. It’s away fun to show them I care, and that I can relate to the stress of planning a wedding. When a couple is more relaxed and more open, you see it in their engagement and wedding images, and that is a win-win for both the couple and I.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi, I am Jennifer Wax. I am the face behind the camera for J L Glamour. I am a published wedding photographer from Texas. I started photography journey back in college when I was going for my bachelor’s in business at Middle Tennessee State University. Ever since my first all-nighter in the dark room developing my own film, I fell in love. Over the next few years, I took whatever classes I could get my hands on to learn more. I wanted to know it all. Photography is so amazing and beautiful, and I wanted to be a part of it.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Showing up, no matter what I try to make a point to always show up somewhere. Either it is on social media or at a network event. As long as I show up and continue to spread my business and my name, then the more people follow me and more people that know my name.
