We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cinthyan & Giselle. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cinthyan & Giselle below.
Cinthyan & Giselle, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Giselle: I always knew I wanted to pursue a creative career but had really hard time figuring out what that was going to be. I tried my hand at event decorating and found out I love that more as a hobby. I found myself constantly searching and saving things for inspo on the internet and then started wondering how I could make some of those things for myself. That’s were the spark started for creating RC.
Cinthyan: I was looking for a way to make money while staying at home with my daughter. I started crafting on the side and then Giselle asked me to partner with her.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
It all started with purchasing a laser machine and trying to figure out exactly what it does. During the pandemic we had time to research, make trial and error pieces, started exploring what social media can do for a business, and joined networks of like minded women in business.
We create business logos, wedding and event signs/packages and original designs to keep the passion alive. It didn’t start this way though. In the beginning, we weren’t sure exactly what RC represented and we started off by making personalized gifts.
For our business clients, we help them with branding themselves in their offices or for expos.
For our events clients, we help their vision on signages come to life as well as producing signs for other creatives.
RC original designs help with gifting needs or personalizing their small parties.
What sets us apart for everyone is our designs are unique and created with our clients ideas and personalities in mind.
Most proud of being able to work together and being the first in our own families to own a business. Our 20 something selves would be really proud of us right now.
We want to be known for our unique touches at special events. We love when we get pictures from our clients or the guests saying they are in awe of our work.
Our brand is Latina based & family oriented . Every piece is made with our version of perfection in mind.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
RC started with making custom items and after about a year we noticed that it took up too much of our time and made no money. We were afraid of declining requests because we wanted to build our clientele but in doing so, it didn’t allow us time to come up with our own designs. If someone else wanted to order that specific design, they would ask us to change a few things about it and then another 1-2 hours were spent re-making the original design. All of this pushed us to see that it was more than ok to say no because custom work was time consuming and to be completely honest, it didn’t help pay the bills.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, for the both of us it is time freedom. We want to be able to live a life full of adventures all while doing something that we love.
