We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jeannine Hinds a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeannine, thanks for joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
While sitting in my office taking care of patient after patient, I became saddened as I realized that I was NOT doing the most good. I began to think about all of the people who would never come to my office because they lack the ability to pay. As a pastor, I also thought about the souls that will never make it into the church for fear of shame, etc. I then realized that I needed to go mobile with medicine and ministry… and so I did!
Tiny House Doc was birth as a result of this. Through this nonprofit, I provided medical and spiritual support services to those in need regardless of their ability to pay. I was able to build a clinic and baptismal pool in a tiny blue house and mobilized my mission with very rewarding results. I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a doctor, pastor, and now counselor. I hope to provide health and healing to minds, bodies, and spirits. My passion is for the disadvantaged and disenfranchised, but my services are for all.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
COVID caused me to have to pivot… It still wasn’t much more outside of what I had purposed to do, but it was different, and I had to make sure that I was STILL prepared to meet the needs of the people no matter what.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
For the first 3 years, my nonprofit did not earn any money. It was all FREE, but costly for me – the overhead, the liability, the investing into the necessities. But, every time I was able to help just one person, it gave me the momentum to keep going.
