We recently connected with Jo Rohal and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jo thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
My pleasure. I have worked on a lot of projects in the past few years that had a special place and meaning for me. For instance, heirloom and vintage pieces that have a family history/story or pieces that have been shipped to me to be refinished, or when a buyer comes along and falls in love with my painted furniture..
The most memorable pieces (bedroom furniture) that I worked on was for a client who found me on Facebook and had her mother’s furniture shipped from Florida to get refinished. I painted those in her mothers favorite colors and not only was she happy and hugged me, she sent a sand dollar in mail that her mother picked while she walked on the beach. That was a very touching experience for me and since then I feel every heirloom piece I do is like a blessing coming to me.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Jo and I live in McKinney, Texas with my 2 boys and husband. I started painting by chance, I say by chance because I never thought I would be doing this. I always had an interest in arts and design, but that was only limited to decorating my home, lol. And one fine day, while looking for furniture for my home, I ended up with a brush in my hand. I started with painting free or cheaper pieces of furniture and slowly as I brushed up my skills, I was painting bigger furniture for others. The transition happened smoothly and in no time. I feel it was destined to happen .
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building an audience on social media is a work of CCE- consistency, content and engagement. Consistency means that you are showing up on your social media/to your followers every single day. You are prepared to share a different and interesting Content with them. And once you do those, you have to Engage/Communicate with them. I sincerely follow the CCE to not only hold on to my audience but keep it growing as well.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me the most rewarding aspect of being a Creative/Artist is bringing joy and contentment to my clients and customers. When they love the piece of art I create for them, it’s the most rewarding moment.
